I've been tense the whole trip, waiting impatiently for the plane to land, to hit solid ground. American land. How good it sounds. It's been a long flight from (your country), and all I can think about is getting into bed. But all those thoughts change as soon as my feet hit the ground.

- WE ARE IN THE UNITED STATES!! I screeched in my sister's ear. - EIGHT HOURS OF FLIGHT HAVE BEEN WORTH IT, YES SIR.

- Lower your voice, for the love of God, ____, the whole airport is going to find out - mom asks me, disapproving with my childish attitude with her eyes. - You're already 15 years old, you can't behave like a little girl.

I roll my eyes.

- Who cares, mom, if we are not going to see these people again in our lives. It's not like they're going to remember us. - I say.

-Wise words- Dad says, stroking my hair as he hands one of the bags to my little brother. - Now, it is important that everyone take their suitcase and that someone calls Uncle Peter, or we will never get out of here.

Obeying dad, everyone grabs their suitcase and we all head for the escalators, to get to where my Uncle Peter is waiting for us.

- How are my favorite nephews? - He asks us while we hug.

-But uncle, - says my brother shyly - we are your only nephews.

- That's why we're the favorites, dumbass - my sister replies.

- Jennifer, don't be rude, we're on vacation - mom scolds her.

My uncle bursts out laughing, and grabs my brother's suitcase, lifting the latter onto his shoulders. We get into Uncle Peter's car, which luckily is big enough for all six of us, and drive to Uncle's house. As we stroll through the streets of Los Angeles, I can't help but stare at the streets, and the people walking through them.

- Shut your mouth, you look stupid - my sister mocks my astonishment.I give her an angry look, and keep going until we get to Uncle Peter's house, where we'll be staying for the next month and a half. The distribution of the rooms is done quickly, my parents in the guest room with the double bed, my brother in my cousin James's room, who luckily or unfortunately has to spend the holidays with his mother and stepfather , and my sister and I in the attic, where we will put two mattresses to act as beds. My Uncle Peter will sleep in his room.

I carry my suitcase up the stairs with difficulty, due to the incline of these, and I leave it on the floor.

- Jenn, pass me your suitcase and go get a mattress! - I shout to my sister down the stairs. She hands me her suitcase and goes back downstairs to bring up a mattress.

When we've finished laying out the mattresses and tidying up the room, I turn to my sister.

- I'm going to get a Starbucks, do you want me to bring you something?

- A caramel frappuchino without cream, and you sprinkle cinnamon on top - she answers. I stare at her.

- You know, money first. - She sighs and takes five dolars out of her purse.

- No cream!- she reminds me as I walk down the stairs.

I walk into the kitchen, where my parents are having coffee with Uncle Peter.

- I'm going to go for a walk, I'll be back in a while. - I tell them. My father just nods his head, and my mother reminds me to put the sound on the phone.

I go outside, and I put the Google Maps. I have never been here, what did you expect? As soon as I get to the Starbucks, I turn off my phone and walk inside, surprised at how empty it is.

- A medium caramel frappuchino without cream in the name of Jennifer and a large chocolate frappuchino with chips in the name of ____ - I say to the waitress.

As soon as I take them, I turn to go to the table where I have to put the cinnamon, but when I am turning, I bump into someone who was coming. And I pour TWO frappuccinos on top.

- Oh my God, I'm so sorry! - I start to apologize  - It was my fault, I didn't look before turning, and...

- Don't worry, it's nohing - says the girl I bumped into. - I hate this sweater, so don't worry. - She comments laughing.

I sit up and look at her. She is a girl of approximately 1.38 meters, grayish blue eyes and short brown hair. The whole sweater is full of chocolate and caramel, but it still looks beautiful to me.

- Do I have chocolate on my face? - She asks me smiling. Shit. I must have stared at her too long. I blush and deny quickly.

- Can I buy you a coffee to make up for the sweater? - I ask timidly. I don't know where I got the willpower from, but I'm not going to back down now.

She smiles at me and nods, and we sit at one of the empty tables.

- I'm Lía - she says holding out her hand.

- ____ - I say shaking it with a smile.
