Falling out of the sky with no memories wasn't exactly in Jake's to do list for the day.
The only thing he remembers is his name, and now he's here. And where exactly is here? He would like an answer to that as well.
Jake looked around. The only things he could see around him were giant trees, bushes, some horses with wings - are these called pegasi? - and a backpack. He walked towards the backpack and opened it - curious to see what's in there. Inside he found some clothes, food, water and a weird round thing that had a button. Jake curiously pressed the button, but nothing happened. He wondered what was that button. He suddenly heard something moving in the bush, and walked to investigate the sound. Inside, was a guy with a small figure - hiding, and looking very scared.
Jake tapped him on the shoulder. The guy turned around. He had beautiful light blue eyes and short pink hair. The guy wore a big sweatshirt, that looked a little too big to be his. He also wore jeans. That's when Jake noticed the guy's ears, they were long - too long to be a human's. When he snapped out of his daze, he asked the guy: "Excuse me, where are we, what are you and do you know how I got here?" Jake's voice was so deep, he surprised himself. He didn't think his voice was so deep, and he couldn't remember what his voice sounded like before he got here. The pink-haired stranger flinched and took a moment to reply. "Uh, we're in the forest..? Couldn't you tell..? Also.. to your other questions.. I'm an elf, and I just saw you falling out of the sky, so i don't really know how you got here other than that..." Said the stranger, with a hint of fear in his soft, quiet voice. Jake just stared at the elf. He had never seen an elf before. That, he could remember - he can tell that this world wasn't the one he lived in for his whole life.
Jake was thinking so hard about this, that he didn't notice the stranger had started to speak again. "-iver, by the way.." he said. "Uh, could you repeat that..? I wasn't really listening.." Jake replied, and the stranger repeated himself. "My name is Oliver, by the way.. also, you look surprised.. can I ask why..?" The stranger - Oliver, asked. Jake didn't know if he could trust Oliver yet, though he didn't look very threatening, and seemed more scared of Jake than Jake was of him.
Finally, he decided he would tell Oliver about the situation he was in. "Well, I basically woke up with no memory here. I thought that maybe you could help me, but you don't have to if you don't want to.. the only thing I can remember is my name, which is Jake. I can also tell that i don't belong here." Jake told Oliver, and Oliver looked confused. "Wait- so you're saying that you actually can't remember anything?" Oliver asked after a few seconds. Jake shrugged. "I dunno, everything's hazy. Maybe I'll remember after some time. But now I just need to find out why I'm even here. I mean, there's weird creatures everywhere that probably wouldn't even exist where I came from." Jake said, while looking at the winged horses.
"Oh, these? They're just pegasi. They're really common in this area of the forest.." Oliver explained. "We should probably go to my house, it's getting really late." "Yeah, we probably should. Lead the way."
They walked in silence. Jake felt he needed to say something, since it was quiet. Too quiet. "Hey uh, are we there yet? We've been walking for a while now, and it's really creepy here.." "Not yet, but we're close, I guess. We just need to pass this entrance by the trees, it's hidden so we'll be safe at my house." They continued to walk in silence. It felt like forever to Jake, but he decided to stay quiet and not bother Oliver too much.
They arrived at the house. It was a small hut, big enough to survive in the forest. Oliver opened the door, and a small vampire-like creature ran up to him. The creature looked happy to see Oliver was back. It had demon-like wings, dragon- like tail, long horns, long ears, fangs, and he was also wearing a small tuxedo. Oliver smiled and cuddled the creature. "Beans! I missed you! How are you buddy?" The creature - Beans - hummed. Jake looked at them from a distance. He didn't trust 'Beans' yet. But he had to admit that the reunion was really cute.
Jake cleared his throat. "Oh, right. I forgot you were here too.. sorry." He chuckled. "Jake, this is Beans. Beans, meet Jake. He will be staying with us tonight." Beans had a wary look in his eyes, and his smile faded - just to be replaced with another one a few second later as he looked at Oliver once again.
Beans ran inside the hut, Oliver and Jake following. Jake didn't let his guard down - not yet, at least. He wanted to fully trust them both until he let his guard down. Oliver was nice, but Jake wasn't fully sure he could trust him. "You can explore the place if you want. I'll make dinner. I'll call you when it's ready." Oliver said. "Okay".
Jake walked around the hut, looking in the rooms. Beans ran up to him, taking his arm and leading him to a room. They walked in silence, until Jake heard a voice in his head. "This is your room. Don't think I trust you though, I'm only doing this for Oliver." "You can talk?" "Not exactly. Telepathy. I'm talking through your brain." Beans said and walked out of the room. Jake took off his backpack, and pulled out some clothes. He then went to wash himself. Jake took off his clothes, and want into the shower. He turned on the water, and washed himself. When he finished, he dressed up and washed his dirty clothes in the sink.
There was a knock on his door. "Yeah?" "Dinner's ready.." "I'll be there in a minute." Jake could hear steps going away. He then opened the door, and walked to the kitchen. As he was working into the kitchen, he could smell food. It smelled good. "I hope you like chicken, this is Beans' favorite..." "Yeah, I like chicken. Also, it smells really good." Oliver blushed for a second at the comment. "T-thank you. I lived alone for a while now so I had to manage and learn to cook for myself and for Beans." "Seems like you had it rough huh?" "Yeah, I kinda ran away from my hometown a few years ago.." Jake stayed silent. He didn't want to get in his business. "Anyway, we should probably eat now before the food will get cold..." Oliver said, embarrassed. "Yeah.."
They ate in silence. Oliver appeared to be thinking hard, as he played with his food. Jake was just staring at the food, and Oliver asked after a while: "Why aren't you eating?" "Oh right, sorry, I guess I was thinking too much.." He started eating, before humming. "This is really good!" "Thanks." Oliver said silently.
After dinner, Oliver and Jake went to their rooms. Oliver told Jake to come get him if he needed something, and showed him his room. Beans left to the forest. Jake was sitting on his bed, trying to remember something - anything. He just wanted to remember his family, or where he came from. After a while, he lost consciousness and faded into a dream.
