Now, you might think dreaming is not that bad. I mean, what could possibly happen in a dream? Well, Jake thought so too.
When Jake opened his eyes after falling asleep, he was in a forest. Not the familiar forest he was in earlier, though - a different one, more terrifying, surrounded by a fog. He tried to move, but he couldn't. All he could do was stand there and only move his head. Jake looked around, scared. The trees surrounding him were blue, and their leaves black. He flinched when he heard a howl close to him. Almost immediately after, he could hear footsteps getting closer and closer. Jake saw a silhouette of a large wolf walking to him. The wolf started walking around Jake in circles for a few seconds, then sat down next to him. He let out a breath he didn't know he was holding, and he looked at the wolf for a second. The wolf was pretty - with silver and white fur, and big, glowing yellow eyes. Jake only looked back at the trees when he heard whistling. Another silhouette came out of the trees - a much more evil looking one. When it walked closer Jake saw it was a pale tall man, with short black hair and intimidating red eyes. He wore a fancy suit, with shined shoes.
The man walked closer to Jake, until he was right in front of him. Jake just stared at the man - it's not like he could do anything else. "So, you're the one," the man spoke. His voice was deep and sharp. "W-what do you mean?" Jake asked. "You don't belong here, do you? It's obvious. Who are you?" Jake glared at him. "You tell me first. How do I know I can trust you? You don't look very nice, you know." The man chuckled, "That's cute. How about I just take over your mind? I'm a demon, I can do it," he sharpened his gaze, "but I will tell you my name first anyway. It's Zane. Now who are you and why are you here?" He asked.
"Look, I don't know. I don't remember anything. All I know is that my name is Jake, so I can't tell you even if I wanted to, and I don't." Zane laughed. "Very well. What about the wolf? It glared at me the whole time." Zane pointed out. Jake almost forgot about the wolf sitting beside him. "I-I don't know, and like I said, even if I did, I wouldn't tell you." He suddenly felt dizzy.
The next thing he remembered, he was laying on the ground with a wolf licking his face. The wolf got up, and stood in front of Jake protectively. Jake couldn't see the wolf's face, but his guess was that it was glaring at Zane. He heard another voice, this time in his head.
"I'll protect you, just tell me what to do." It had said. Jake couldn't speak - he was too shocked for that. Why would the wolf help him? He saw Zane getting closer to him.
"Could you tell your wolf to not attack me? It's just a dream of yours, it's not like I can feel anything here or die, so it's useless. I came here to talk."
Jake could finally speak again. "My wolf? What do you mean?"
"I mean it's your wolf, otherwise it wouldn't protect you. How stupid are you? You can't tell who's on your side and who's not?"
"I won't go down, master. But if you want me to leave, I will." The voice said again. "Could you stand there, wolf? Or.. if you have another name please tell me..."
The wolf went a few feet away from Jake. He suddenly felt scared again, like the wolf had given him courage to speak. He regretted making the wolf go away. "Good," Zane said, "so you see I came in peace now. You should look out for my father. He'll kill you the second he could, but I'll help you. Not because I'm your friend, but because I hate him." Jake was confused, "Who's your father?" He asked. Zane seemed to be thinking for a moment, then answered, "you'll know when you see him."
Zane turned around. "See you soon," he said, "I'll come see you. I know exactly where you are. And tell your friend to not be scared of me when I do, I'm on your side, for now." Zane then went back into the forest.
The wolf looked at Jake. "Silver." It said in Jake's head. "Huh?" He was confused."That's my name - Silver. You asked for it." The wolf - Silver - said and got up. Silver helped Jake up, then standing next to him. "If you ever need me again, just call my name and I'll come." Jake nodded, and Silver then went back to the forest as well.
The next thing he knew, he was hit on his head by something.

Jake jolted up, panicking for a bit, until he realized he was safe - in his bed. Oliver knocked on his door. "Hey, are you okay? I heard some screams so I came to check on you..." "You can come in, and yes, I'm okay. Just dreams.." his thoughts wondered to the dream again. Who was Zane? Who was his dad? Jake couldn't think of any possibilities. Zane had said he was a demon, maybe his father was one too? Why did Zane hate his dad? And who hit him? These were all questions that wouldn't be answered, at least not soon.

Jake was snapped out of his thoughts by Oliver. He looked worried. "You good? I made breakfast.. you can come eat if you want." "No, I'm fine. I just woke up, so I'm not really hungry right now.. maybe later." "Okay then.." Oliver said and walked out of the room. Jake was once again left with his thoughts. He realized the sun was already up, and he got up. He went to the kitchen. "You sure you're not hungry?" Oliver said worriedly. "I'm sure, I'm going out for a few minutes." He answered. Oliver nodded and Jake went outside, to the river behind Oliver's house.
He sat down on a big rock. From the trees, he could see someone coming. When they got closer, Jake could see red eyes. Zane. Jake ran his hand through his brown hair, as Zane came out from the forest. "What do you want?" Jake glared at Zane. "I said I'd come, didn't I? No need to glare at me. I'm not gonna do anything." Zane said, his voice softer than before. Jake didn't let his guard down though, he just nodded. "Good," Zane said, "I'm just here to meet your little friends, so there won't be problems when we go against my father. He does want to kill your friend though." Jake was surprised. "Why would he want to kill Oliver? What did he do?" He had to ask. "I don't know. But you should probably warn him, since you clearly don't want me here. I'll go, but I'll be back." Zane said and left.
Jake walked back inside the house, looking for Oliver so he could warn him. "Oliver?" He called out. "Yeah?" He heard Oliver's voice asking. "Where are you? We need to talk."
