Liam:
"Babe, are you ready?" Liam asked ,putting on his timberlands. You looked at Liam putting on the happiest face you could muster.
"Yea!" You smile knowing that was far from the truth. You feel your smile falter as Liam eyed you suspiciously. You did not want to ruin this for Liam because it was his first time seeing his family in a long time.
"Are you sure?" He asked you could tell he was on to you. One thing about Liam is he knew you better than you knew yourself. You nod trying to maintain your smile. He sighs and takes a seat on the bed looking up at you as if he knew you were lying. You sit in silence for what feels like an eternity, and you feel like your cheeks are going to fall off.
"What?"
"Don't lie to me Y/N, what's bothering you?" He questions and you finally let your smile drop.
"I think we both know," you say sitting right next to Liam. He sighs again brushing his hand over his face.
"Y/N she's basically apart of the family. What do you want me to do?" He breaths, and you know you're treading on thin ice with Liam because this is not the first time you have brought this up.
"I don't know Liam! I'm just not comfortable with how close you are with your ex. I mean your mom likes her more than me, and we're engaged! How am I supposed to feel about that? How would you feel if I had an ex that showed up to every family gathering, and hung on my arm the whole party! It's like she still thinks you two are in a relationship." You yell and by this point you're up and pacing the floor. You have been hurt a lot in your life and it caused you to be really insecure even when you don't want to be, but that's something you can't control.
"Y/N why are you so insecure? I don't know what for, I did everything I could to prove to you that I'm with you! But Sophia is something I don't have control over. She-she means no-nothing to me, but you. You mean everything to me." He stutters looking at you with uncertainty in his eyes.
You don't reply, because you don't know how to reply. You loved Liam and know he wouldn't cheat on you, but as far as Sophia, you had to keep an eye on her.
"Listen Y/N," he say trying to reason with you,"how about I stay away from her the whole time. I won't talk to her, and you won't talk to her. Promise?" He smiles warily stretching out his hand. You fold your arms across your chest before reluctantly muttering a yes.

You and Liam finally made it to the family reunion, and you were currently sitting in the corner while Liam was having a conversation with a few of his old friends.
"Why the long face?" You perk up as soon a you hear who it is.
"Jake?" You smile getting up to greet Liam's cousin. Jake is basically your best friend, and only one in Liam's family who really accepted you.
"Y/N. I missed you," He smiles hugging you for a little to long. You try to pull your body from his but he holds you closer.
"Um, Jake." You say quietly and he quickly lets you go apologizing. "Um, so how have you been?" You ask trying to get pass the awkward encounter you two just had.
"I've been-" his words soon turns to fuzz as your focus goes to Sophia who just walked up to Liam. She smiles engulfing him in a hug before he can react. Liam's eyes quickly finds yours, and you look away trying to pretend you didn't see it. "Don't make a scene, do not make a scene." You tell yourself. You try to focus on Jake but your attention shifts back to Sophia who was now locking her arm with Liam's. You quickly excuse yourself walking over to them. When Liam sees you approaching them he quickly yanks his hand away from her. She looks confused until she sees you walking over.
"Hi, I don't believe I introduced my-" you start but you are cut off by Liam grabbing you.
"We were just leaving." He rushes pulling you away from Sophia. "I thought we weren't going to talk to her," he whispers to you.
"I thought the same thing." You whisper back harshly. And he rolls his eyes pulling you further away from Sophia.
"Don't be such a bitter ex! Liam I thought you were through with her." You hear Sophia yell. And everything stops. What did she just call you? You look up at Liam he's just as surprised as you.
"What did she just call me, Liam?" You asked fuming. Did she call you an ex? "Me and Liam are engaged!" You yell pushing Liam aside and walking up to her.
"That's not what Liam told me. Me and him have been seeing each other for 7 months and we don't need crazy exes like you trying to break us up." She says looking at Liam. Your eyes quickly look at Liam and he's lost for words.
"Liam? Is this true?"
