1st October 2019
Dear Cairo,
It is now the third year that you have not been here by my side. I miss you so much.
I visited your parents in Hawaii this year. They said that they still consider me as their son. I am really grateful for them. I remember when you first took me to meet them. I was so nervous and worried that they wouldn't like me but you reassured me that they would love me. Well, you were correct. The house you grew up in is still the same. I guess you would be happy with this information.
How are you? What is it like in heaven? Do you play with majestic instruments like the harp all day? Or do you like to sleep until afternoon just as you did before? What is it like up there? I have so many questions to ask you.
I wish you were still here with me. I would wake you up with some breakfast in bed every day. I would wake up extra early just to buy you your favourite cup of coffee.
I have been listening to 'Paper Hearts' by Tori Kelly a lot lately because it reminds me of you. The memories we made together are still playing in my head like a videotape. It pains me to know that we can't do the things that we used to do all the time together. I hope that one day, we will reunite.
I attended the party your brother threw for your birthday. It was fun but at the same time, it was kinda sad. I wish you were here to celebrate with us! He bought your favourite red velvet cake from the store! It was delicious but it would have tasted better with you.
Love from your one and only boyfriend, Jayden Grant
P.S. I still love you
