Hello again! It's been a long time so I really thought I should update. This chapter is shorter than most of the chapters I've written because this was just supposed to be a smaller sort of event. The next chapter is probably going to be very long because a lot is going to happen. But that probably won't be out until April or later.

If you don't remember what happened last chapter, basically it was when May was feeling a bit upset after what those girls said to her in Violet City, but then Drew cleared her doubts away and cheered her up. Also May's Oddish evolved into Gloom. After they left Happy Town, they were heading to Cherrygrove City. I hope that was a helpful synopsis!

Anyway, enjoy the chapter!

When they finally saw Cherrygrove city, the sun had set and the river they were walking along sparkled under the glow of the city lights. May felt a new jolt of energy at the sight of the city despite the full day of travel. She had been a lot more cheerful since her conversation with Drew in Happy Town, after he had cleared her doubts and worries away. She still found herself blushing sometimes when she thought about how kind he had been about it all, even buying a brownie for her. More than once in the past week she stumbled over her words when speaking to him and when he teased her for it it only made her more flustered. She had rarely ever felt like that and only when one of his comments riled her up enough to argue with him could she find it easy to talk to him. She was slowly starting to get better at hiding her feelings now and desperately hoped he couldn't see through her. At least now that they were in Cherrygrove, there were other things to focus on, for the both of them. The blue water and lush greenery surrounding the city made May feel refreshed and ready for a new adventure. She already had one thing to look forward to.

"I haven't seen water this blue in a long time," Drew said, eyes trailing along the river. He had one hand closed around the bag strap on his right shoulder and the other in his pocket.

"That's because Cherrygrove is known for having a lot of Quagsire that keep the water really clean!" May explained enthusiastically. Drew nodded in understanding.

"Look there are two right there! They're coming this way!" Both May and Drew stopped as the two Quagsire swam up the stream to them, stopping as well. May grinned, kneeling down to pat one on the head before opening her bag and rummaging around. She pulled out a Pokeball and let out Beautifly.

"Drew, do you have something round? Like Roselia's empty pokeball?" May asked excitedly.

"Yeah, I do." Drew pulled Roselia's pokeball from his pocket. "Why?" He asked with a perked brow.

"Give it here," she snatched it from his hand then offered it and Beautifly's pokeball to each of the Quagsire, both of whom took it in their mouths.

"Hey! May, what are you doing?!" Drew half-shouted. The two Quagsire turned and began swimming back down the river.

"Calm down Drew," May said, brushing dirt from her knees as she stood. "It's all part of the Festival!" She grinned.

"Festival?" Drew asked, still a little concerned as the Quagsire disappeared underwater.

"The Lunar Festival! That's why I said we should keep going until we make it to Cherrygrove. So we could be in time for this festival since it only happens once a year."

"I did wonder why you didn't complain about walking so much," Drew mused. "But do you want to explain why you gave those Quagsire Roselia and Beautifly's pokeballs?"
