It was around the time Lillian started registering for which courses she would be taking in college. Not forgetting about all of the time she has spent with Peter recently, she now needed to focus on school. She couldn't be distracted.

Lillian wasn't sure if Harry had spoken to Mary Jane since the incident with Norman, but she knew that Harry definitely wasn't the type to apologize if he felt like he didn't need to. She felt sorry for Mary Jane, but also didn't necessarily care.

Lillian had planned on visiting Aunt May in the hospital because she was attacked by the Green Goblin. She loved Aunt May a lot, and wanted to go check up on her. It wouldn't hurt that Peter was also going to be there.

When she got to the hospital, Peter was asleep, his head rested on Aunt May's bed. Lillian smiled at him.

"I see the way you look at him," Aunt May smirked, opening her eyes.

Lillian blushed furiously, "What?"

"Come on, Lil, you both are crazy for each other," Aunt May chuckled.

"He is not crazy for me," Lillian shook her head.

"But, you are for him? And he is. He just doesn't see it yet," Aunt May spoke softly.

"Who doesn't see what?" Peter sat up quickly. "Oh, hey Lillian."

"Hey Peter," she sat on a chair next to him. "How are you doing, Aunt May?"

"I'm good, dear," Aunt May smiled. "Thank you for coming."

"Of course, I needed to make sure you were doing well," Lillian smiled.

"Thank you for coming," Peter said to her. "It means a lot to her, but it definitely means a lot to me."

"It's no problem, really," Lillian tried to hide her blush.

Aunt May smirked as she watched.

"What?" Peter noticed.

"Oh, nothing," Aunt May chuckled.

Lillian felt embarrassed. She didn't know why Aunt May was acting like that and suddenly she felt nervous that Aunt May would tell Peter. Either way, she didn't want to be stressed during her time with Aunt May ans Peter.

Shortly, Aunt May fell asleep and it was just Peter and Lillian. Lillian felt awkward in the silence, reading from the book she had brought.

"So have you registered for classes?" Peter asked.

Lillian looked towards him, "Oh. Yeah I've been thinking about which classes to take and I am going to register soon."

"I think I've always wanted to go to Columbia University too," Peter sighed. "But it's too late."

"Why didn't you?" Lillian asked.

Peter hesitated, "I never thought I could do it. It sounds stupid when I say that, but it is the truth."

Lillian frowned, "Peter, you out of all people, would be the one who could do it. You are the smartest person I know."

Peter smiled softly, "Thank you, it's not that I don't feel smart enough, it's I don't know if I would mess it all up by not turning in work, or not knowing my way around, or being late to class every day."

Lillian let him ramble. It was cute.

"-I am okay with going to Empire State."

Lillian grabbed his hand, "Peter, you should go to Columbia. It's not too late and I know you can do whatever you put your mind to."

Peter felt confused, in a good way, "You really think so?"

"Yes, I know so," Lillian smiled at him.

Peter smiled back at her, enjoying holding her hand, when someone opened the door.

"Dad?" Lillian asked, surprised, pulling her hand away. "What are you doing?"

Norman eyed them suspiciously, "I was just coming to check on Aunt May. What are you two doing?"

"Nothing," Lillian blurted.

"Are you guys like together or something?" Norman sat, looking at them.

Lillian blushed furiously, "What? No! What makes you say that?"

"Oh, I don't know, maybe because you guys were holding hands just now," Norman shrugged.

Lillian looked to the floor. Peter looked over at her before looking back at Aunt May, who luckily was waking up.

"Norman?" Aunt May smiled, looking towards him.

"Hello, May, how are you doing?" Norman smiled at the old woman.

"I am doing just fine, thank you for asking," Aunt May said.

"Can you pull the blanket up a bit more?" Aunt May asked. "I am cold."

Both Peter and Lillian reached, their hands touching, them both blushing, before they both pulled their hands away. Peter quickly pulled it up.

Norman watched this whole encounter, hearing a voice in his head.

He's Spider-Man and he loves her. Imagine what we could do.

That's my daughter, thought Norman. We will not harm my daughter.

We wouldn't actually harm her, we would pretend, to get him to save her. Then we could kill him.

I don't like this idea, thought Norman. I love Peter, I do not want to harm him either, he's my son.

Your son? He's Spider-Man! He tried to kill you! He's your enemy.

I never wanted this. I never wanted to be like this and I most definitely didn't want to hurt anybody, Norman thought.

You're weak.

Shut up.

Why? It's the truth.

Stop.

"-dad? Hello? Are you there?" Lillian's voice snapped him back.

"Oh, sorry. What were you saying dear?" Norman asked.

"Peter asked you something," Lillian sighed.

Norman hesitated, "Yes, Peter?"

"What would your advice on college be?" Peter asked. "Like, just being at college, homework, classes."

"Oh, um, I'd say that you should always get your work done and turned in on time. And show up to class on time," Norman thought. "Those are the main things."

"Thank you, sir," Peter smiled.

"Okay, Lil, May, Peter, I've got to go. It was nice seeing you all, I will see you later," Norman left.

"He's been acting so strange," Lillian pointed out.

"Yeah, I've noticed it too," Peter shrugged.

"I thought Harry was supposed to be coming to see May today," Lillian said.

"I thought so. Maybe he got busy," Peter thought for a second.

"Maybe, but, unfortunately I have to go too," Lillian frowned. "I wish I could stay but I have to run some errands and clean."

She stood, Peter as well. She gave him a hug.

"I hope she gets better. I'll see you soon," she walked towards the door.

"I'll see you," Peter smiled, sitting back down, alone again, while Aunt May rested.
