~~~~Present~~~~
"Are you okay?" Shego turned to find her lover standing in the door frame.
"I'm fine. Just thinking." She turned to look back out over the city. She held out her hand for the girl to take. "Sit with me."
She hesitated. "But it's chilly tonight."
"I'll keep you warm." Shego quirked a smile.
She took her hand and sat in the older woman's lap, curling up to keep warm. Strong arms wrapped around her. Soon enough, she could feel a heat emitting from the other woman.
"What were you thinking about?" She asked, tracing invisible tattoos onto her lovers chest.
"Things." Shego answered.
She laid her head in the crook of the other woman's neck. "Was it about us?" She asked against pale skin.
"Yes."
It was silent for a few moments. Both women just enjoying the others company.
"I wish I could stay tomorrow."
"Me too." Shego kissed Kim's cheek. The smell of cherry and almonds filled her nostrils, bringing back more fonder memories.
~~2 Years Ago~~
"I got you a present." Shego announced.
It was New Years Eve. It was thirty minutes until the new year. The past few days had been quiet and somewhat nice. The mornings were the most awkward, Shego always woke up first and had to pry the other girl off her. Waking up with Kim was making her feel weird. Like happy. But it was unfamiliar territory that she was far too afraid to venture into. For now at least.
"Oh." Kim was surprised. "I'm sorry. I didn't get you anything."
"That's okay. It's not so much a gift as much as a truce." She explained.
Kim opened the box, her face shown confusion. "A fake passport and a fake I.D.? Why would I need these?"
"Well I know we don't always get along... Okay so we never get along. And these are for when you feel like you need to leave for a few days without Global Justice knowing you went somewhere without me."
Kim just stared down at the paper disheartened. She was upset. "So... you don't want me around. Is that what your saying?" She throws the box down. "Some gift."
"Okay. What is with you?" Shego stood up. She had had enough of the girls wishy washy attitude towards her.
"Me? You're the one that doesn't want me around!" Kim mirrored her actions, not letting the other woman control the situation.
"I never said that. I just thought you'd like a break every now and then. So you wouldn't rip my head off!" She guessed they were going to bring in the new year with fight. So much for a truce.
"Well I don't wanna break! I had six months away from you and you never called or texted. For some reason I need you in my life." The shorter woman stepped closer, trying to get in Shego's face. "I wish you never had made that stupid deal with Betty. That way I wouldn't be in this predicament and I still..." she trailed off. "Never mind."
"Look I'm sorry for not texting you or whatever. I missed you too believe it or not. I missed you like crazy! I was going insane being constantly alone. But I wasn't about to call you over it." Shego ran her hands through her hair. She started walking away from Kim, hoping this conversation would be over.
Kim only followed her. She grabbed her arm and stopped her from going any further. "But why not?"
"Why not what?"
