Griffin's POV

I was out in my garden, finishing up some reading when I saw something move from the corner of my eye. I looked in the direction, a warm smile making its way to my face as I saw my dearest friend Rigo walking about in his yard. "Rigo!" I called, marking my place in my book as I set it down. He looked up immediately, smiling and waving me over. "Hey, old sport! Where were you yesterday? Knocked on your door to invite you to lunch only to find out you weren't there," He wrapped an arm around my shoulders as we walked.

"I went up to my old friend's house in East Egg for lunch. I hadn't seen her in years," I stuffed my hands in my pockets. "So it's a she? And who is this lucky lady?" Rigo smirked.

"No, it's not like that," I chuckled. "She's my best friend from back home, Y/N Y/L/N."

Rigo raised his eyebrows, "Y/N Y/L/N? Is she married?"

"Yes, to David Y/L/N. Her maiden name is Y/M/N-"

I stopped mid sentence as Rigo stopped walking, his eyes widening. "Rigo, is there something wrong?" I looked at him, clearly confused.

"Um, yeah. I mean no, I'm fine. Sorry about that," He shook his head as if to rid a thought, clearing his throat before running a hand through his hair.

"I'm having a party tomorrow night, as always, but I was hoping you'd want to come. Invite your friends as well," Rigo gave me a tight lipped smile.

"Me? The first person actually invited to a party hosted by the famous Rigo?" I joked, placing my hand over my chest.

Rigo chuckled, "Yes, and don't forget to invite your friends! I love East Egg people."

It was my turn to chuckle. "Okay, I'll see you then," I told him, turning around to head back to my house. "You will. And remember to invite them,"

Rigo reminded me once again before turning in the direction of his house and walking away.

Your POV

I was outside, sitting on our deck with Jordan, enjoying the warm, spring air before the shrilling sound of the house phone interrupted our peace. I let my head fall back as a groan escaped my lips.

"Mr. Y/L/N!" I heard our butler call. My head snapped in the direction of the house.

"Who could be calling him right now? It's a Saturday," I stood up from my spot on the deck, Jordan quick in following behind me.

"Yes, I'll tell her," I heard David say as I rounded the corner into our front room. He looked up as I walked in.

"Here she is, I'll tell her right now," David placed his hand over the talking end of the phone.

"It's Rigo. He said we've been invited to a party tonight. You too, Jordan," David said.

"We have? Who's?" Jordan questioned.

I looked around in boredom, not really caring for a party. David muttered into the phone before looking back at us,

"Rigo." My breath hitched in my throat as I turned to look at David. "Rigo wants us to come to his party?" I breathed out, my hands beginning to shake gently.

"Yes, dear do you want to go or not?" David asked. I shook my head quickly,

"N-No, you know I don't do parties." "Aw, Y/N, it'll be fun!" Jordan whined.

"I-I can't," I stuttered looking away from them. "Y/N-" "I will not go!"

I raised my voice at Jordan who instantly hushed. I sighed, "I'm sorry, Jordan. Can I speak to you for a second?"

I grabbed her hand and pulled her back outside.

"I can't go to his party, Jordan." "I don't understand-" "I know him. Remember those letters I used to write and I told you they were to a friend that went away to war and I made you swear not to tell David?"

I asked. Jordan nodded. "They were to him. The man I loved, Jordan. I can't go see him," I was nearly in tears. She smiled softly, nodding.

"I understand, we don't have to go if you don't want to-" "No, no! I want you to go. I want you to have fun! I'll just stay behind for the night, it's fine really,"

I reassured her. She flashed me wide smile before embracing me in a hug.
