"Ughh.." I groaned as i rolled out of bed, hitting my alarm clock. i rubbed my face seemingly trying to anoint the exhaustion out of my features.. but to no avail.

I heard some shuffling on the bed and looked to see my beautiful boys, Quackity and Karl. The morning sun hit perfectly on their soft skin like drops of golden love and honey. I shook my head in disbelief and sighed, "I don't know what I did to deserve them," I thought, "I'll let them sleep a little more" and made my way downstairs to start making breakfast.

After about half an hour of scrambling to make perfect pancakes I heard footsteps lugging down the stairs and turned to see my beautiful duckling walking into the kitchen. As he brushed the sleep from his tired eyes with a yawn, I couldn't help but to stare for a second with a dumb grin. "Good morning Ducky," I said while wrapping my arms around his waist and placing my chin on his shoulder. He gave a slight hum in return and I nodded my head in understanding, he was still tired. He leaned out of my grasp and stumbled to the sofa where he, inevitably, plopped down on the leathery cushion and fell back to sleep.

I sighed and glanced up at the staircase. Karl had been worrying me lately, staying up in our room for longer than usual. I quickly made my way up the stairs and swung the door open. "Good morning, Karl!" I sang happily. My face fell when our eyes met. His cheeks were hollow and tear-stained and his eyes looked as if they lost their shine. I rushed towards him the look on my face must have been enough for him to tell I was worried. "I'm fine! It was only a bad dream!" he smiled and pretended to laugh it off. I bit my lip but nodded.

"Alright, you had me worried!" I pouted swinging my arm over his shoulders and squeezing him close. He hung his head and apologized. I quickly reassured him it was fine and told him I would be making breakfast. His face lit up a bit at that. I smiled and hesitantly removed my arm watching as he stood, nodding, and walked to the bathroom saying he'd be right down.

I headed back downstairs and smiled at Quakity fondly. My beautiful boys. I turned and slipped back into the kitchen bacon and pancakes it is. It wasn't long before I heard Karls's feet padding down the stairs waking the grumbling Quakity from his beauty sleep.

"Good morning again, Duckling!" I chuckled and ruffled his hair as he stumbled into the kitchen following the savory scent of fresh bacon. Karl followed quickly after. "Who's hungry?"
