ZAHARA

"Hurry up Kat! What the hell are you doing?! We don't have time for bullshit right now!"

"I'm trying my best Zahara! This isn't easy to do alone, you know?! Where the fuck is Silas?!"

I let out a grunt and rolled my eyes. I knew that going into business with these two would be a nightmare. Ugh. Why didn't someone stop me?

"Hurry!" I screamed at her, as she hastily tried to rearrange the desert station. Silas had completely messed the orders up and had left that mess for us to fix. I don't know how many times I tried explaining to this donut that he needed to be more alert but oh no, it would always be one ear in, the other one out.

Mr. Huang barely hired our service for his daughter's wedding dinner. He made it very clear to me that he wanted everything to be catered to perfection. I had to give this man so much reassurance.

I felt myself begin to hyperventilate. We had one job. ONE JOB and my partners were just messing everything up. My reputation was already not the best. I was shocked when I had received that fateful phone call from Mr. Huang that day. He was desperate himself. All of the other catering business their schedules were already as tight as can be.

They had no free schedules left anymore to assist him, so, he came to me.

I really wanted to impress him. Our catering service was seriously hanging by a thread. This would be our last chance at redemption. To prove ourselves.

My phone began to ring. I looked at the caller ID and quickly answered.

"Yes Mr. Huang?"

"Y-Yes, we're almost finished.

He sounded very worried. I couldn't help but feel the knot beginning to form in my stomach.

"Y-Yes, I agree sir. No! No need for that. Everything will be ready once you arrive."

I heard the line go flat, insinuating that Mr. Huang had hung up. I removed my phone from my ear and exhaled loudly in frustration.

"Kat stop! Not like that!"

I rushed over to her and tried as much as I could to fix the damage. Mr. Huang and his family were already on their way to us and I needed to get everything in order.

The adrenaline that had been speeding through my body, unfortunately made me make a few errors myself, resulting in me having to start over almost every time.

Why was I so bad at my job?

I heard the ding of an elevator go off and nearly fainted. They were so fast oh my God.

"Kat! Go and try and stall Mr. Huang and his family. I need more time to arrange the tarts.

She nodded her head and quickly rushed to Mr. Huang's direction.

I hurriedly tried to finish everything, before the guests and my client and his guests would arrive. I could already hear their voices near the dining hall, the more I listened.
