Chapter 2-Kura

The banshee glided just above the lake at over 80 MPH. Water sprayed up into the sky behind the soaring vehicle. Thel hadn't used a Banshee in a while,also the engines were smoking,making it hard for him to fly the vehicle.

Thel slowly began to wonder about a few things.
How would Kura know his location?
And how would he know that he would even be on this planet at all?

The world of Onyx,a forerunner Shield World that had been controlled by humans for centuries,had been taken over by the covenant since the human/Covenant war began,and had been dominated by the Covenant ever since. Seeing that it was an outer colonized world,and that it was close to a covenant mining facility,the covenant knew where it was in a matter of months. There were ruins of the human buildings all over the place,and their species hasn't been on this world ever since the covenant had wiped out over 3 million of them in one single glassing.

He was then distracted by a loud beeping sound on the panel in front of him. He clicked the button and a loud bang came from the speaker that was at the front of the controls.

"Thel? Thel is that you?" The voice said in its Sangheili tongue.

Thel could hear plasma fire coming from the speaker,explosions,and voices in the tongues of his own and many other species.

"Kura! It is you! What's happening down there?"

A crackling sound came from the speaker and the line was cut. He then heard Kuras voice again a few moments later

"Our patrol was ambushed by heretics. We are outnumbered 4 to 1 and we need air suppo-" the line cut again.

Thel began to get very worried and and pushed the engines to max,making the banshee go over 120 miles per hour. Even though the engines began to catch fire,he kept them at the same speed even though the engine warning indicator flashed like crazy.

He then saw what was happening with Kura. He was enraged at the sight of how many heretics there were. Plasma and needler rounds were coming from all directions along the top of the canyon,and a small bit from where Kura and the rest of his squad were being pinned down.

As soon as Thel saw a fuel rod go off towards the pinned soldiers,he shot the secondary weapon on the Banshee,which was also a fuel rod. It landed directly in the centre of the enemy and blew half of their soldiers into smithereens.

The ones that hadn't been destroyed stopped firing and looked up,confused on what had just happened.

Thel slowed the Banshee down and jumped out. He then kicked it with all his might,sending It flying into the rest of the heretics. He threw a plasma grenade,just about sticking the Banshee. It exploded,sending shards of purple metal down towards those who survived the fuel rod explosion.

Half of those who survived the fuel rod explosion got crushed by the debris of the falling banshee,the others were either injured or running for their lives. Thel glided down using a thruster pack that all Banshees provided. He shot at all the retreating or dying Heretics using his Plasma rifle and grenades.

Jiralhanae,Unggoy,Kig-Yar, all fell as they attempted to escape the horror behind them,but made no advance.

Thel landed on edge of the canyon,and wondered through the dead,crippled enemies,making sure all of them had been disposed of. He took out his blade,and moves over the corpses. One Kig-Yar attempted to escape,and was crawling away,leaving a trail of dark purple blood. He went over towards it,and ended its life by crushing it's skull with his boots.

He recognized one of the dead. A Jiralhanae wearing heavy MK 5 armor was amongst them.
He was one of the Brutes that were chasing him after he took the MK 7 armor from the High class Elite. It had been a few days ever since Thel stole the armor.
