Oneshot series: Father's Day {Part 2}

"Maggie?" I say and look up from the dishes.

My 10 year old daughter looks up from the book she is currently reading, "huh?"

"Can you go get Ted and Amber? I have to talk to you guys" I say and smile at her.

She looks a little surprised but nods anyway and runs upstairs, calling out her siblings names.

I already ordered the plane tickets to London the same day as I agreed with my mom to go, but I haven't told the kids yet, and we're leaving tomorrow.

Of course I have talked to Theo since- he calls every single day- but I haven't told him anything, nor am I going to, cause I want it to be a surprise.

I told him that he can't contact us from tomorrow and the next three days since we're going camping with my mom, which is obviously a lie.

Once I'm done with the dishes and turn around, I see all three of my children gathered together around the kitchen island, sitting on bar stools.

For some reason they all look terrified, probably because last time I called them together and said I had to talk to them, was because Theo was leaving for a few months.

"Don't look so scared, kiddos," I say with a slight laugh.

They all look even more scared, and a little sad, because that's what Theo calls them all the time.

I sigh a little and walk around the kitchen island to get to them, their gazes all follow me.

Maggie, Amber and Ted all have big brown eyes. Ted's brunette curls and Amber and Maggie's long, curly brown hair are all signs that they are children of Theo James.

They are all three exact copies of their dad and one can't look at them without getting reminded of him.

"Look," I start and smile a little to tell them I'm not going to say anything bad. "I know you all miss your dad very much, and so do I, therefore I have come to the decision that the only way we can get our needs fulfilled, is if we see him in person"

Amber jumps up from her chair, "are we going to England to visit him?!"

I smile big and nod, "we are going to visit him."

Now Maggie also jumps up, the two girls start a dance around the kitchen while they squeal and laugh.

Ted still looks dumbfounded, "what that mean?"

With a smile, I walk to him and pick him up, placing him on my hip, "tomorrow, we are flying to England, the country where grandma and grandpa live, and then we are going to say hi to daddy"

Now he smiles, "daddy with grandma and grandpa?"

I chuckle a little and place him at the counter to stand in front of him, "no honey, daddy is working on a new movie and we are going to visit him on the set. It's going to be a big surprise for him, 'cause he doesn't know we're coming"

The look on Ted's face is priceless as he squeals and wraps his arms around my neck, pulling me into a hug.

Then, my phone rings in my pocket and I need to pull back from the hug.

I look at the display and see Theo's face popping up on the screen, "guys it's your dad calling" I say and Amber and Maggie stop dancing. "Remember, not a word about that we're coming, okay?"

"Okay," the girls say in unison and salute me.

I pick up the phone and set it on speaker, placing it on the kitchen counter as we all gather around it.
