PROLOGUE

"what made you think he was a good guy?" patricia says searching for a new page to write on her crappy looking note-pad before biting onto the tip of her pencil as if it was licorice.

i felt myself sink more onto the sofa as i look out the window in the office, staring at the birds flying by and the clouds moving slowly.

"i-i don't know." i truthfully spoke letting a strand of hair cover my face before looking at patricia who just took off her chained glasses and holds them into her wrinkly hand.

"was it love?" my heart pumped faster at the sudden mention of the word. 'love'. how could've it been love if all i felt was vulnerability and betrayal.

but yet again, was it love? the amount of times i went back. the times were all i wanted was him. the moments i had with him in my arms after cussing him out and telling him to go. those times where he would come back even after i felt 'better' only for me to take him back because i cared for him.

was it love?

i gulp down my nerves as i glare at patricia.
"we're done here."
