Warm. Safe.
That's how Sam woke up in the morning. The pressure, the anxiety was not there. He felt free and in control. Then he heard it, the small breathing of the little girl beside him. The little one who he feel a bond with her. As crazy as it sounds it almost feels like she is his mother, his protector.
Slowly raising his head from her neck, his brown eyes made contact with her heterochromia eyes.
" Good morning Sam." she said with a soft and calm voice.
"Hi" shyness crawled into the boy. Feeling like a kid who slept in his mother's bed. Small giggle made him look up to her.
"Come on. Let's get up. We are training today. Ok?"
Nodding his head Sam got up. God he didn't want to. He just wanted to go back in her arms and sleep for the day.
"Go clean up and i'm going to make breakfast." Shay said will putting back on her hoodie. Sam watched her leave his room and going down stairs. Taking his clothes he went in the bathroom and closed the door. Gazing into the mirror he felt hole, like he was on the good path. Smiling he started the shower, took off his clothes and got in.
Meanwhile, Shay was downstairs making food pancakes with bacon and strawberries. She reached to her phone while flipping the pancakes and texted her father saying that she was coming back later today.
Putting the food on the table, she heard the shower stop and heard the step of someone coming down the stairs. Sam made his way into the kitchen to see food on the table, he went to his seat and waited for Shay to come. She then came with two glasses of orange juices, sitting at the table she looked at Sam.
"So, I am going to help you fight in wolf form and how to shift without needing to take off your clothes everytime. Ok?"
"Ok... Uhm... I have a question?" Sam said
"Go ahead"
"The bond that I.. am feeling right now with you. What is it?"
Smiling to him softly " I have a motherly bond with you. You are my son and I will always protect you."
Sam looked down to his plate a smile forming on his face and a feeling of love washed over him. He felt loved.
" Now finish eating and then we are going outside"
They spent almost the whole day training in both human and wolf form. Sam was exhausted, laying on the ground in his wolf form with his head on Shay's paw, who was also laying down.
'You did a good job today pup' Shay said.
Happiness was all he could feel right now. Not growing up with a mother and a father who wasn't exactly present he never really had a loving childhood. Reliving the memories, Shay could see everything, she could even feel the loneliness and sadness radiating from him so she did what mother wolves do to calm their pups, she gently nibbled his face and rubed her heads against his. He slowly but surely fell asleep to take a nap.
They woke up 2 hours later, Sam got up and shook his fur to get all the leafs off. Transforming back into her human form, Shay gave Sam some clothes since he wasn't capable of transforming without ripping his clothes.
"I have to go home now pup" Shay said will having her back turned ro give privacy to Sam.
"No"
"What?"
"No. You are staying with me." he said stomping his feet like a kid.
Giggling she puts her fist on her hips and looked at him with a raised brow.
"Sam"
Pouting a little bit he look at her with puppy eyes, Shay raised her eyes in the air knowing that looking in his eyes she would crumble.
Sighing"Fine but I have homework to do so you can stay with me in my room. Alright?"
"Yes!"
Climbing into Sam's truck, they were on their way to the Swan house. Shay started humming and singing at full voice.
