Chapter 2: Living In The Castle Is Strange

(TW: Mentions of missing person)

Patton's POV: (bet you didn't expect that!)

Virgil has been in the castle for about 12 hours now and I can tell that he is still trying to get used to it as it is massive and he doesn't know his way around it just yet.

He seems to be really close with Lidia and Calum, hmm... I wonder if he's really good with kids or if he just likes them two specifically? I'll just ask him later!

I decided to check up on Logan because he seems like he's taking this the most. I hope he's ok because he's dating Remus and Remus is missing which makes Logan very upset because he misses him beca- oh my goodness! I'm sorry, I started rambling there.

Anyway, I make it to Logans' room but he wasn't there.

'Huh, strange.' I thought, wondering where he could be.

Wait... He's gonna be in Remus' room! Of course he'd be in there! However, as soon as I walk out of the room, Logan ran into me.

Literally.

"Oh my apologies Patton, I did not see you there. Are you ok?"

"I'm ok Logan! But, the real question here is, are you ok?" I question him quickly; before he can escape to wherever he was going.

He just stared at me.

"I am satisfactory, I was unharmed from the fa-" I cut him off with a Patton bear hug- as I've been told they are like- with tears in my eyes and didn't let go.

I knew he wasn't ok; I just want him to know that he can open up to us if he needs to!

"Stop pretending Logan! You don't have to be hiding away! You can talk to us!" I slightly raised my voice so he could hear me, loud and clear.

He was silent, slightly shaking.

He collapsed, sobbing his poor heart out. I just held him the entire time while speaking little-nothings into his ear.

That was all I could do.

It was about twenty minutes until Logan calmed down enough to speak without stuttering. He said that he would speak to me after dinner. I made sure he was in bed for a nap because he looked absolutely exhausted, before leaving the room and going on a hunt to find Virgil so he could speak with the king about his sleeping arrangements.

Oh! We also need to mention the note we found from the mean man who kidnapped Remus. Hopefully, he knows how to find him so we can get Remus back!

I wander the long, wide and well-lit halls before I make it to Romans' room where I can hear him talking to his little siblings and Virgil.

I smile when I hear Virgil laughing as he rarely ever does, even when I'm with him! It's nice to Virgil getting along with people other than me and his brother.

Hold on...

THAT'S WHAT I NEEDED TO DO!

I needed to tell the king about him!

I ran as fast as I could towards the kings' bedroom before coming to a halt and catching my breath before knocking.

"Come in Patton, I know it's you," The king calls out to me.

"How did you know it was me, your majesty?"

I was confused on how he could tell that it was me at the door and not one of the others. "You knock a specific way Patton, it was quite easy to tell it was you, but enough about that, what did you need?" He said while chuckling a bit. I never realised I did that, it's cool!

"Well, you know how Virgil is a witch? And he's helping us get Remus back?" He nodded.

I hesitantly decided to mention his brother.

"Well, he has a brother who is also a witch and..." He gestured for me to continue.

"I was wondering if, well, if... hecouldpleasecomealongandhelpus?!" I spoke the last sentence at the speed of light but he still somehow managed to understand what I was saying.

"Of course he can Patton! If he's Virgils' brother then I don't see why not. Do you know where he lives and could you go and collect him?"

Unfortunately, I didn't know where he lived but Virgil did so he went with a guard courtesy of the king. While we were waiting for them to come back, Roman and Logan came out of their rooms and into the dining room where we were all waiting.

They gave us curious looks but when we explained what was going on and what we were doing, they understood.

Virgil was back within about twenty minutes of Roman and Logan arriving in the dining room; when he did, we got to meet his brother:

Janus.

Hey everyone! Sorry for not posting in awhile, I've been busy with school. I really hope you all enjoyed this chapter and I can't wait to continue writing this!

I also may be starting some oneshot books about my other ships while I continue to write this story as I haven't gotten past chapter 3 yet. Anyways, this is long so I'm gonna leave it here.
