PRESENT DAY
Athens, Greece

"Yes, Dru. I swear I'm okay after the earthquake. I'm more worried about you."

"I'm perfectly fine, my starlight. The school collapsed, luckily nobody was harmed and we were rebuilding all day. The children were shaken up but I managed to ease them to sleep." Druig sighed and I frowned propping my phone up on the kitchen counter so he could see me properly. "You cooking?"

"A sandwich probably. I ate a big meal today." I shrugged. "You got your plane ticket?"

"Yep. In two weeks we'll be seeing mum and dad again. Have they called you?"

"Dad texted asking if I was okay and to ask when we were going back. I think he's more excited about making our favorite foods instead of seeing us."

"And Sersi? How's she doing?"

"In London with Sprite. Ajak called me a few days ago too! She said that Ikaris finally visited after decades... She sounded upset, I don't know why." I shrugged and chuckled when Druig yawned. "You look dead."

"My bones ache, muñeca."

"Then you should get some sleep. It's late here too." I said and Druig whined. "Sleep is more important right now."

"I'm only going to get a few hours of I'm lucky. I have shit to do in the morning." He mumbled and sent me a small smile. "Same time tomorrow?"

"Depends on how much sleep you get tonight." I smirked and he nodded.

"Fine."

"I love you, mi cielo."

"I love you too, muñeca."

...

"Vena? It's me!"

"Sprite!" I rushed to open the door and pulled her and Sersi into a hug when I noticed Ikaris scratching his neck behind them. "Oh, fuck no!"

"Vena-"

"I told that the next time I'd see you, I'd kill you! Sprite, get me a knife. I'm doing this the old fashioned way and enjoy it." I grinned and Ikaris took a step back.

"Good to see you too, little sister." Ikaris regained his composure and I threw a ball of fire next to his head.

"You lost the right to call me that a long ass time ago, Ikaris. And Sersi! I thought you knew better! You don't go back with your ex, you make an upgrade, not a downgrade. Have I not taught you anything while we were in Venice and Budapest?" I scolded and ushered them inside almost slamming the door on Ikaris' face if it weren't for his foot in the way.

"Vena... Ajak's dead." Sersi whispered and I froze in my tracks. "It was a Deviant."

"They're dead. I literally burned the last one to a crisp." I sneered not turning to face them.

"Vena, we found her body. Who else would've done it?" Ikaris asked placing a hand on my shoulder but I flinched away.

"I dunno... You, a gun, anything really." I shrugged and fell to my knees overwhelmed by the headache that suddenly consumed me.

"Vena!" Sersi exclaimed holding my face in her hands as my eyes glowed.

"Should've done this five centuries ago."

"DRUIG!"

"The wall... It hurts." I managed to choke out once Sprite held my hand. "Gah, it hurts."
