Loud knocks rapped against the wooden door to your room, startling you awake. Your eyes shot open, and you lifted your head, still heavily drowsy and wanting to know what the hell was going on. It was when you caught a glimpse of the room that you remembered you were no longer in your universe and, instead, in your room at the Survey Corps headquarters. Up until that point, the realization you weren't in your universe hadn't fully hit you, but it smacked you now like that Titan did yesterday. Your jaw dropped, and you ran a hand over your hair and stared ahead of you wide-eyed, heart pounding in your chest.
How was any of this real? You should've been sleeping in your bed at your apartment until your alarm went off for you to get up. You would've met up with Tessa for breakfast and coffee and then headed to class. You would've called your parents and caught up with them because you didn't get to see them often. There was so much you would've done back in your world that you no longer could do. You were stuck in some universe that you didn't belong in with no friends, family, job, or anything that belonged to you besides your iPad, Apple Pencil, cellphone, and the clothes that you hoped were dried by now. It was anxiety-inducing, and you took deep breaths, trying to calm down your rising panic. You struggled with anxiety in middle school and high school, and while your diagnosis didn't magically disappear, it hadn't been an issue for you in years. The last thing you wanted was to have a panic attack after all this time.
You took a few deep breaths, letting out a deep sigh after a minute when more knocks sounded on your door. All you wanted was to curl up in a ball and stay in your bed for the day, but you didn't get that. The door flung open, making you quickly wrap the blanket around your naked body before whoever decided they were too impatient to wait for you to open the door could see you. Hange stepped into your room with a wide grin, and even though you didn't know what time it was, you had a feeling it was far too early for their energy. You covered your face with your right hand, dragging it down when Hange excitedly said your name and strode over to you.
"Good morning," they cooed, staring down at where you lay.
"What time is it?" you grumbled, making them chuckle.
"Eight. Breakfast started an hour ago, so Erwin sent me to get you so that you could eat something."
Before you got the chance to respond, Hange grabbed your arm and pulled you out of your bed. You scrambled to keep the blanket around your body, trying to explain to Hange that you weren't wearing anything under it. They weren't listening to you, and you huffed, trying to keep up with them as they dragged you out of your room and down the hall. It was far too early for this to be happening, but Hange had a death grip on your arm, preventing you from escaping back down the hall to your room. Not that you would've tried. You were dead tired and had no energy to try and slip Hange, but you did make a mental reminder to lock your door at night from that point forward. You didn't need to lock your bedroom door in your own universe because the front door of your apartment was fancy enough to lock when it closed behind you.
"Hange," you tried to catch their attention.
"I can't wait to take you shopping, but you need to eat first. You must be starving!" Hange rambled.
They were right about you being starving, but you didn't want to enter the dining hall with just a blanket around you. One wrong move, and the entire Survey Corps got to see what you looked like nude, and you would rather that never happen. But Hange continued pulling you through the hall and down the staircase, making you hold the blanket closer to you. Every step you took was carefully placed, and you let out a sigh of relief when you finally made it to the first floor, only to immediately feel dread when you realized that you were closing in on the dining hall. You frantically whispered Hange's name over and over again as they dragged you around the building towards two large wooden doors. You mentally prepared yourself for what was about to happen, and you took a deep breath when Hange threw open one of the doors when both of you reached it. Silence fell over the dining hall, and everyone turned to look at you and Hange.
