A/N
Sorry for not updating for nearly two months! I was busy with college and editing one of my other fics, but I finally finished this chapter! Just a little warning, but there is some suggestive content in it (nothing too explicit, but very much sexual in nature). Anyway, I hope y'all enjoy this chapter!

Besides the occasional scribbling of your pen, Hange's lab was quiet for once. Nifa and Moblit went with Hange to get some materials they needed for the Titan capturing equipment Hange decided to create. You didn't ask, but you were curious if it would be similar to the restraining gun that was in the game or if it would be something completely different. You were bound to see it at some point. You might even assist Hange with creating it once you finish the flash grenade, though you did have some other ideas you want to bounce off Hange to see what they thought. When you arrived in this universe, you didn't expect to be creating military-grade items to help the Scouts, but you were, and you were enjoying it. If what you made could save the life of even one Scout, you would consider it a success.
You shifted in your seat and placed down your pencil, taking a tiny bit of the magnesium-infused oxidizer you created and setting it in front of you on the table. Grabbing the flint and steel that rested on the end of the lab table, you held it over the explosive composition and struck the flint against the steel. It took a few strikes, but once there was a spark, it ignited the powdery substance and caused a small white flash of light. There wasn't enough powder to create the bright flash that would blind a person, and hopefully a Titan, but you knew from what you saw that you had the properties of the composition correct. All you needed to do was finish creating the body of the grenade and build a fuse that properly ignited, and you should have a working flash grenade.
You set the flint and steel down on the table and rubbed your hands together, excitement bubbling inside you. This was possibly the most excitement and happiness you had felt since you arrived in this universe, and it was a nice small change from the anxiety and depression you had been dealing with the past few weeks. While you still weren't mentally okay, you felt just the slightest bit more relaxed this morning than you had for a while. The panic attack you had last night was long overdue, but you also believed that getting your feelings off your chest helped. You didn't have to deal with everything alone, and Erwin was going to speak to the therapist he trusted so that you could get professional help. Maybe it was just hope, but you felt like things would start getting better for you, slowly but surely.
"We're baaaaack!" Hange announced, kicking open the door and barging into the lab with Nifa and Moblit.
"Did you get everything you needed?" you asked, turning on your stool to look at them.
"We did!" Hange grinned and walked over to you. "And we received our monthly supplies from the government, so there'll be more to use in the lab."
Your eyebrows knitted together, and you sat up straight when an idea struck you. Part of the monthly supplies the Survey Corps received was ingredients and food. If there were anything left from this month, you wondered if you could use them for baking. Erwin, Levi, and Mike saw you at your worst last night and went out of their way to help you, and you wanted to make them something as a token of gratitude. Baking was also something that you found comfort in at home. When you were a kid, your mother would let you bake with her, and as you grew older, you found a passion for it and made some of your own recipes. You also loved it because baking required chemistry, and you used your knowledge in chemistry to improve your baking.
A few times, you entertained the idea of opening a bakery. You were good at baking and cooking. Friends, family, and people at events you made food for would always compliment you on how delicious the food you made was. People even reached out to you to commission you for birthday cakes and other baked goods at times. But you knew starting a bakery and successfully running one was a lot of work. It was a business, and financially, you couldn't pull it off. Maybe one day you could, but who knew when that would be, especially when you were stuck in a completely different universe than your own.
