"Pregnant??" I asked, shocked. "That's, that's impossible! I'm on birth control!" The doctor shook his head.

"No ma'am,  not entirely impossible. See, you were prescribed antibiotics from here a couple weeks ago, and they can weaken your birth controls effectiveness. They should have mentioned that." I shook my head in disbelief. "N-no. No one said anything about that.." I trailed off. The doctor looked at the nurse, who sighed.

"I'll bet it was the new doctor here, Dr.Murphy. He's always forgetting to tell patients things like that." The doctor shook his head in exasperation. "Miss Timmons, I'm so sorry that you weren't informed about that." I nodded slowly.

"It's..it's alright. I'm...." I breathed deep and started to smile. "I'm pregnant. I'm pregnant!" I couldnt believe it. That explained why I was so tired and couldn't keep anything down. It wasn't just the stress of things going on with Daryl, I was carrying a baby. His baby. I hugged my stomach. Maybe this baby would make him happy. Maybe it would make him see I wasn't a bad person.

The nurse smiled at me. "You gonna tell the dad? Think he'll be excited?" she asked. I nodded. "Oh yes, he will be!" I said, while praying that telling him about this baby would make him love me again.

"I have a friend that has these custom tshirts she sells that say things like This guy is gonna be a Daddy  and such. Want me to give you her number so you can get the dad to be something?" I nodded. The nurse wrote it down on a piece of napkin from the holder in the room and I folded it up and put it in my pocket. "I'll tell her that you'll text her to meet up." The nurse smiled at me again.

"When was the last day of your last mental cycle?" the doctor asked. I thought for a minute.

"About 2 weeks ago, the 31st I think?" The doctor nodded. "Alrighty. So, the puts you at...right about 4 weeks pregnant." I smiled.

After I left the urgent clinic, I sat in there car and pulled my phone out. I texted the number from the paper.

"Hi! It's Sam. I was wondering if I could meet up with you today?"

"Hey! Of course! How about my house?"

"Great! Cant wait to see you!"

The other number texted me an address and I headed that way.

I took a deep breath and climbed down from my stand. Sam would be home soon. Home. This wasn't home anymore for me. That cabin where I and Sam had promised to love each other and be true to each other....that was only a distant memory now.

I excitedly pulled into our driveway. I had picked out the perfect shirt to surprise Daryl with, it was grey and on the front it said I can't wait to meet you Daddy! with a silhouette of a baby under it. I had also stopped to grab a pregnant test from the grocery store, so I could show Daryl the 2 pink lines on it. I rushed inside, knowing that Daryl would be home soon from hunting. I rushed to the bathroom and used the pregnant test. Sure enough, two pink links popped up almost immediately. I couldn't stop grinning. I walked into my office and grabbed a piece of stationary and wrote a note on it, before going back outside to Daryl's truck and wrapping the pregnancy test up the t-shirt, and laying it in his drivers seat, with the note on top of that. I wanted to wait until Daryl got back so I could see his reaction, but the cold was wrapping around me. I needed to get inside and get myself warm in a nice hot shower. Get me and our baby, warm. I smiled. Daryl was going to be happy again.
