"Daryl!" I said, his blue eyes meeting mine. "What? You two know each other? No way in hell!" Merle said, his mouth hanging open. Then he slapped his younger brother on the back. "Well shit, I didn't think you had it in you to talk to women Daryl-ina!" Daryl just shrugged his brother's hand off his back, grunted and sat down on the bar stool next to Merle. "What can I get ya?" I asked him, leaning on the counter in front of him. He barely looked up as he  mumbled "Just some beer, thanks." I sighed. What was with him? He seemed nice enough today when he was fixing my car for me. I turned around to fill Daryl's mug as the band started playing. "Yo, sugar tits, how about my second mug?" "Coming right up Mere!" I yelled behind me. "Yeah baby brother, if you ever grow a oair of balls, you justmight be able to get a little something on side, like what I got going with sweet sugar tits right there!" I spun around and sat Daryl's glass down in front of him. "Merle, you would have better luck getting a bear to eat it's own leg than of me being your sweet thing on the side!" I grabbed his empty mug, put it in the sink, and started filling up another mug for the man. "Whoa whoa whoa sugar tits, calm down! Ol'd Merle was just playing with ya!" "Well it's not funny!" I sat his mug down and leaned into his face. "I don't care that you come in here and we talk, I don't care that when I bend down you stare at my ass the whole time, hell I don't even care that you call me sugar tits, but don't you EVER start calling me a 'thing on the side' Merle Dixon." He was silent for a moment then started to mumble something under his breathe. "Merle, just shut your fat mouth up." Daryl said next to him, and he glanced up at me, then cut his eyes back down to his drink. I walked down the counter and served a few other customers who had just arrived,, and then walked back to the bothers. I shouted over the music, "Ya'll two need anything?" Daryl shook his head and Merle shoved his empty mug at me. I grabbed the mug and returned it with a full one. "Hey, uh," Daryl started saying. "Yup?" I said, giving him a smile. Even though his brother was being as ass, Daryl seemed pretty quiet and mellow. He half smiled back at me. "I was uh, I was wonderin' if you wanted-" He was cut off by a deep voice yelling from the end of the bar. "Samantha! Sam!!" I looked over and sure enough there stood Kyle, sending me his apologetic look. I rolled my eyes. Daryl looked over and said "Friend of yours?" "Yeah," I muttered. "Something like that. Excuse me please, I'll be right back." He nodded and I walked over to Kyle.

"What do you want Kyle?" I asked as I walked over, crossing my arms across my chest. He looked down at me said "I just wanted to say that last night, I was out of line, and I'm sorry." I just stared at him and he crossed his arms across his broad chest. "What the hell else do you want me to say Sam? I said I'm sorry, and that's enough." "Kyle, can we talk about this later? I'm at work." I went to turn away but felt his hand wrap around my arm. He leaned in close to my face. "Don't you dare walk away from me." He glared at me with fire in his eyes, and I swallowed hard. "O-okay babe. I'm sorry." He stared at me for a second, then let go of my arm. I pulled my sleeve down where he had exposed my latest bruise. "We'll talk about this when you get home tonight." "Kyle I don't get off until 1, can we talk about it tomorrow morning? I'll come over to your house." He pinched his nose, let out a breath, and finally said " Alright. But be there by 9, I'm leaving to go to Dallas for a few days tomorrow afternoon." "Since when are you going you going to Dallas?" I asked, since this was the first he had told me of it. "I don't have to tell you my plans, you-" "Is there a problem?" Sully asked, walking up behind me. Kyle glared at him, "Nope. None at all." "Good, because Sam needs to get back to work Kyle." Sully stared at Kyle, who finally nodded at my boss, then me, and turned on his heel and walked out of the bar. I let out a breath I didn't even know I had been holding in. "Are you ok Sam? Is there something you need to tell me?" Sully asked, putting a hand on my shoulder. I shook my head and smiled. "No Sully, thanks though. Just a stupid fights, that's all." The man stared at me, then took his hand off of my shoulder and turned to walk back down towards the other end of the bar. "Sam," he said turning around, "you know you can come to me for anything, right?" I smiled at him. "Yes, Sully, thanks." He gave me a small smile and continued mixing drinks for some old lades who had come in and sat down.
