It was pouring outside it set the mood a bit the woman that has been their for me my whole life besides my mother was gone and today would be my last day seeing her before she finds her eternal rest underground

Everyone dressed in black even myself not a hint of color to be seen which is not common in Colombia but in occasions like this it's necessary

soon I was next and walked up to the casket to see my abuelita one more time

Her once warm face was now cold and her smile was now gone only to be remembered in my memories of her

I held the locket she gave me as a gift close to my heart as I soon felt tears come out of my eyes letting the fall and not holding back my sobs

Soon I took a minute outside the venue to think about those memories of her on how she would read me stories from all different Types of books to help me sleep

I look down at my necklace and open the locket from which it hangs; it contains a small piece of paper that read 'let your heart speak for you' it was cheesy but it's one of the few things she gave me so I treasured it.

Once the funeral was done my parents and I went back home after a few hours I got hungry so I decided to get a snack from the kitchen

I soon realized that the kitchen was being occupied by my parents who whispering about something my curiosity got the best of me so I tried to listen in..

"Are you sure this is a good decision?"

"Yes I'm sure mi vada maybe this is what we need right now maybe we just need a new fresh start"

"Jorge your mother just died and she was very close to Valentina are you sure you want to do this now?what if it stresses her out more?"

"Alison I know what I'm doing I know this will be good for her she just might need a change of scenery to calm her down a bit this loud city is going to do no good for her"

I hear my mother sigh in defeat as she calls me over thinking I'm still in my room

I make my way over to the kitchen embracing myself for anything they're about to say..

My father starts off the conversation "mija me and your mother thinks it's best we get a new change of pace.."

My mother continues where he left off "yes,we think it would do all of us some good to get away from this city and move to somewhere a little more quieter.."

"So we have decided to move back to abuelita's old village and where I grew up in, it's a small quiet village called encanto" he said in a calm voice hoping I won't hate the idea

"Me and your father already got we're offer jobs their for the new library they just built and of course you can help us out at the counter as usual.." mother said in a more cheerful tone trying to lighten up the situation

They both waited to see my reaction, I thought about it for a bit 'I don't really have any friends holding me back to this noisy city plus a quite village might make it easier to read at night..'

I soon nod my head with a slight smile my parents look at each other in relief by my reaction they soon informed me that we were to leave tomorrow by bus and the last bit of the way by wagon so I should start packing my stuff now and with that i ran back to my room

I got out my luggage and started packing all of my clothes and books plus all the books abuelita gifted to me and once I was done I flopped on my bed awaiting for the next day for a new journey and story to begin in my life..
