"Abuelita pleaseee tell me one more story.." begged the little girl with two braids in her hair not wanting to sleep or let the old women beside her leave

"Ah mijita how could I ever say no to you.." she said in a voice that sounded almost as sweet as sugar "now lets see what story should I tell tonight...oh! Yes I have one how about la princesa de la isla de cristal?"

The little girl giggled and snuggled even more into her soft blanket nodding her head in anticipation

The old woman began to tell her tale in the softest voice you could imagine

"well once upon a time..there lived a village girl from a humble family they were not rich or poor but they were happy because they had each other sand that's all they needed..but one day the father of the family had lost their job the family started to lose money and soon they would lose their house too..the village girl not wanting to see her family suffer heard of a legend of an island made out of mountings of rich crystals; knowing this may be her chance to finally help out her family she set out to find this island in hope that the crystals would sell for a good price and save her home and family... along her travels she met a snake at first she did not trust the snake and wanted to do her adventure alone but on her way across the jungle she got trapped inside a net trap probably used to hunt and catch animals the village girl who was already tired and hungry almost gave up until she heard noises of chewing she looked down to see the snake chewing on the rope with his fangs and so, she thought to herself 'if this small snake believes that I can make it then I should believe in myself' and thus a surge of courage and confidence washed over her once most of the rope was cut she was able to get out and continue her journey while the snake guided her in the right direction ..her and the snake became very close quickly she appreciated the snake for all that he's done for her and the snake was happy to help be in someone's company after a long time of loneliness and solitude..soon after taking a boat across the ocean they had reach the crystal island together but as soon as they stepped foot on the island they were ambushed and taken to the crystal palace..their stood the queen of the island with eyes that could pierce through anyone in a powerful tone she said "and how could a lowly peasant find this island hmm?"
The village girl responded as if she wasn't filled with fear "with the help of the snake of course." The queen roared with laughter
"A snake?? Have your parents ever taught you not to trust snakes? They are mischievous creatures who deserve to wallow in their own loneliness."
The village girl looked down for a moment and then turned to the snake nest to her and then look back up at the queen
"I think with all do respect that you are wrong your majesty"
The queen stopped her laughter abruptly and looked at the village girl
"And what makes you say that..?" The queen said in a questioning yet sharp and serious tone
The village girl stoop up with a new sense of confidence and let her heart speak for her
"This snake has done nothing but help me through out this journey and without him I would have not made it here..I also thought that all snakes were bad but now I believe it's wrong to have that kind of judgment especially since I haven't even met every snake in the world..but all I need to know is that this snake right here is the most helpful and kind snake I have ever met..and that I thank him for everything he has done for me.." with those words the snake suddenly was lifted up in the air magic surrounding the air and in a matter of a seconds the snake now became a prince the village girl was in shock she looked at the prince then back at the queen who was silent
"..no one has ever said those words to my son ever since he got turned into a snake for his own mischievous no one wanted to get near him.." she said sorrowfully the village girl looked back at the prince until he spoke and grabbed her hand "..except you; you truly have a heart of gold..please take as much crystals as you need.." the girl smiled as she began to fill out her bag with crystals to bring back to her family..as she was about to leave she heard the prince call out to her she looked back at him waiting for him to say something but it was as if he was to shy to and so she reached out her hand waiting for him to take it which he happily did and they sailed back home and back to her family who welcomed the prince right it and they lived happily ever after.."

"Did you like the story mijita?" The old women said as she looked to see the little girl sleeping soundly

The old woman smiled as she got out of bed and left a gift for the little girl on her night stand

She turned off the lamp on her nightstand as she whispered

"Goodnight Valentina"

A/N : sorry if that was a long paragraph but if you want the short version it's technically just a story about not judging a book by its cover and to let your heart speak for you anyways thanks for reading!!
