Todoroki

"You WHAT??!"

Denki grabbed my shoulders and shook me.

"I was trying to protect her!!" I shouted. My brain felt like it was rattling around my skull and might burst open at any minute.

"Todoroki, my guy. My buddy. My pal. You saw your crush--"

"Nat is not my--"

"YES SHE IS. You saw your crush with insane mind powers--who by the way does NOT need your protection-- getting close to someone else and you think the best option was to build a wall of ice directly in front of their face?!!"

"Well when you put it like that--"

He took my face in his hands and leaned in uncomfortably close. I could feel him staring into my soul.

"We have to fix this. Now."

He got up and walked toward the door.

"Come on Icy Hot we're going shopping."

I could tell that I really didn't have a choice in the matter so I decided to follow him.

Nat (meanwhile)

Thank God for Recovery Girl.

My nose was so crooked (and hurt like hell), but she was able to fix it almost instantly. Running into a wall of ice at full speed causes a lot more damage than you might think.

All I wanted was to go lay down for a little while in my dorm room. I didn't think that would be a problem until I got back to the dorms. A lot of my classmates were crowded into the common room, muttering to each other.

"Uh hey guys. What's up?" I asked. They turned to look at me.

"Oh heyyyy Nat, your nose looks a lot better," said Tsu.

"Uh thanks. What's going on?"

Everyone eyed each other.

"Well...there was a bit of an...incident upstairs. With Bakugo. You might not want to go upstairs right now..." said Maris.

I just rolled my eyes.

"Thanks but I think I can handle it. I'm just going to go to my room and--"

Tsu and Maris both stepped in front of me.

"Um what are you doing?"

"Why don't you just lay on the couch? Ribbit. I hear it's very comfortable," Tsu said nervously.

I narrowed my eyes. Something was off. I pushed them back with my quirk and ran to the elevator. I made it just in time before they could stop me. I didn't know what the big deal was.

Bakugo was a big baby. Everyone knew that. I didn't think I had anything to worry about but...

I was so wrong. My jaw dropped as soon as I got off the elevator. My room--or what was left of it--had smoke coming from it. The door had fallen off its hinge, and the carpet was singed black.

"What the fu--"

Another explosion rang out and Bakugo came flying through the wall.

"WHERE IS HE?"

"Where is WHO?'

"Oh I'm sorry. Prince Philip. WHO DO YOU THINK I'M TALKING ABOUT??"

"I DON'T KNOW I'M NOT A MIND READER!! AND WHAT THE HELL DID YOU DO TO MY ROOM?!"

The shouting match continued. Pretty soon we had a crowd. The rest of the class decided to come upstairs to see the commotion, but no one decided to try to help. I'm pretty sure Mina even started recording the incident.

I was furious. Subconsciously, I started lifting both of us off the ground. Bakugo's hands sparked with mini explosions.

"Well folks, it this it? Do we finally get a legendary rematch after the courtyard incident and the sports festival? The suspense is killing me," Mina narrated.

The whole class held it's breath.

"Absolutely not."

Suddenly we both came crashing down onto the floor. Everyone's eyes widened.

"Mr. Aizawa??"

He stood just outside the elevator, his eyes glowing.

"Anyone care to explain what's going on here?"

"Well I was trying  to come upstairs to take a nap but this dumba--"

"What I think Nat means to say is that this was all a big misunderstanding!" came a sweet voice.

It was Serena. I hadn't noticed her in in the crowd. She waved her hand in the air, and I saw something change in Aizawa's expression.

"Bakugo had a little bit of an accident, and Nat was a little confused. That's all. No harm done. See?"

She waved her hand again, and everything went back into place. Aizawa blinked.

"Um...well. Ok then, but Nat, I want you to move rooms. You two shouldn't be near each other anymore," said Aizawa. He sounded a little confused.

"Splendid! Then it's settled."

Aizawa walked away and muttered something about interrupting his naptime.

I shot Serena a grateful look. Whatever she did, it got us out of trouble. I guess that's one of the perks of having a literal angel as your friend.

I ended up moving into the room next to Jiro. By the time I had packed up, Aizawa had come back to his senses and decided it would be best if Bakugo and I were as far from each other as possible.

_______________

Coincidentally, I still managed to bump into him later that night. Something seemed off.

"Hey are you ok?"

He scoffed.

"Listen, I hate to say this but...I guess I'm a little sorry for escalating the situation. Things have just been weird lately. I guess that happens when you think you know someone and they start putting walls up in your face. Literally..."

He raised an eyebrow.

"I mean...gosh wow ok that was a little deep. Forget I said anything."

I was about to turn and walk away until he spoke up.

"No I get it. I thought I knew someone too, but I think he's hiding something big. It pisses me off."

"Midoriya?"

He just nodded.

"Well...I don't have much experience with people, but why don't you confront him? One-on-one. Sometimes that's what it takes to smack the sense into people, ya know?"

I could see the wheels turning in his head. The corner of his mouth started to tug into a little smile.

"Yeah. I think I might have an idea of how that could work."

We looked at each other, and a sort of understanding passed between us. I wouldn't go as far as calling us friends now, but there was at least the beginnings of some newfound respect.

We started to go our separate ways. I was about to get on the elevator when he called out-

"You might want to take your own advice too. Don't be a baby. Talk to him."

I was almost touched, but of course he had to throw an insult in there. Typical. I laughed as the doors started to close.

"Oh and thanks for the idea," he called out.

I wasn't exactly sure what he meant, but I decided not to worry about it. I had better things to worry about.
