"Alright everyone, time to start the day!" Mr. Lupin says to the class. He sits down at his computer to take attendance.

"Hannah?" The girl named Hannah says here.

"Isabella?" Another girl says here.

Mr. Lupin is about to get to my name. I hate saying my name out loud...People might stare at me too because of the situation with my brothers ;-;.

"Okay I know John and Charles are already here..." I hear Mr. Lupin mumble, "Lin?" He says louder. Wait, what? He didn't make Charles and I say here...we glance at each other. I give him a "What the heck?" look and he just shrugs. That's a first for an elementary school teacher.

"Alright did I miss anybody?" Mr. Lupin announces. A boy's hand shoots up. I recognize him, that's Aaron Burr.

"Mr. Lupin, you didn't call John and Charles." Aaron says, pointing to me and Charlie. Of course he'd be the one to say that. I don't hate the kid, he's just kind of annoying to be around. Charlie tolerates him a little more than I do.

"Oh, I put them down, Aaron." Mr. Lupin smiles, glancing over at me and giving a "You're welcome" look. I mouth thank you and look over at Aaron.

"Then why didn't you call their names?" Aaron further questions, getting halfway out of his chair. It's just attendance, Burr. Jeez.

"I remembered them coming in, now please sit down, Aaron." Mr. Lupin says sternly. Aaron sits back down and glares at us, more me than Charlie.

"Alright everyone, please take out a blank piece of paper. We're going to be doing an assignment that's going to help us get to know each other. I won't pick partners, but try to find someone you don't know very well! If you get done early, you're welcome to go to another person. You'll use this template for questions that I am going to pass out." Mr. Lupin explains the activity to the class. God I hate stuff like this. Charlie and I should've done our act where we pretend we don't know each other so we could be paired for get-to-know-me assignments.

"Alright, now that everyone has their templates, you can begin to find people! You have 20 minutes. Ready, set, go!" Mr. Lupin instructs us to start. Charlie looks at me.

"I don't think we'll be allowed to do it together, J." Charlie says, frowning a bit.

"Yeah...do you wanna find p-people together m-maybe?" I ask, scared to talk to anyone besides Charles.

"I know it scares you though, I'll feel bad." Charlie says, fixing his hair. I love when he does that, it's so cute! I see Mr. Lupin walk over to us with a piece of paper and pen.

"Are you having trouble finding someone, boys?" He asks sweetly.

"No, I guess I'm just nervous or something. But that anxiety is stupid and trivial." I respond, remembering my biological father's words.

"Oh, no it's not! It's totally okay to feel that way, a lot of people do, especially on the first day of school. How about I do the questions with you? Charles can join if you'd like." Mr. Lupin offers to us. I see Charlie's face light up.

"That would be awesome, sir! Do you wanna do it, John?" Charles looks over at me with his stormy brown eyes, so gorgeous. I can't stop gushing over how perfect he is, I apologize.

"Oh uh, sure." I reply shortly.

"Great! Here, we can sit in the bean bags in the corner by the duck lamp." Mr. Lupin says, leading us to three bean bags with nature like patterns.

"Oh.my.god.this.duck.is.the.greatest.thing.I've.ever.seen.in.my.life!" Charlie exclaims. Yeah, he loves ducks.(OK but why does this make so much sense to me for him-)
