When I first introduced Gale/Mirage/Cthylla to my stories in "Protectors" (under the guise of Anikova), I never actually intended to dive into the explanation of how Cthylla actually took over her hosts, or flesh out the path Gale took to possession and recovery. However, when I got started on "Radical" and wrote the flashback scene with Phineas, Gale, and Cthylla, I decided to fill in the blanks in terms of what happened after the Convergence: from when Gale was freed from Cthylla's control to when Phineas exercised Cthylla's contingency plan and made Gale her host again.
In addition to all this, I recalled the scene at the end of "Predators" where Cameron, Autumn, and Anikova were helping Gale to cope with the aftereffects of the Old Ones' mind-bending powers. So with that in mind, I used this story to tie up their loose ends as well.
This story is set between, during, and partially after "P O W E R : Radical".
As Autumn and Anikova reconnect through their experiences and battle the lingering demons, Gale fights to recover what Cthylla has stolen from her. But little do they know that the Old Ones are not quite finished with them yet...
