***NOTE: TO CLEAR UP CONFUSION, EPHAH IS NOW LUKE***
My morning was like any other, so I decided to skip straight to when Ezra picked me up.
He was wearing a grey sweater, underneath was a white dress shirt and a tie. He looked so incredibly handsome. He gave me a warm smile as if I had nothing to worry about anymore. "You look as beautiful as ever tonight." I didn't see how though, I was only wearing a black blazer with a striped shirt underneath and formal looking jeans.
"Thank you, and you look amazing yourself." I said still blushing. I then felt the sudden urge to call Ephah. "Could you come in for just a second? I have to make a quick phone call." Ezra nodded and stepped in, casually looking around and noticeably trying not to feel awkward.
I walked into the kitchen and called Ephah. "Ephah" I forgot I didn't tell him I already made up a name for him.
"That's my name? Darkness is my name?" He laughed "a little morbid but I'll get used to it."
"I need to ask you a question." I continued "what if... I don't feel an emotional connection towards Luke, but instead towards Ezra?" I was scared.
"That is fine, all we needed was for Luke to feel the emotional connection. I just needed you to allow him to feel that way in the first place. So you're safe for now. I already have what I need and you can feel whatever you like."
I was surprisingly relieved to hear that. ".....thank you." I hung up and walked toward the living room. Ezra was holding a picture in his hand, looking at it hard.
He noticed I came into the room and he looked confused. "Who is this?"
I smiled "it's my best friend and I when we were around 5 or 6 years old. We lived in New York at the time. After the terrorist attack happened on 9/11, which believe it or not is my birthday, we moved here, to Washington. Why do you look confused?"
"Because the blond one, your child self, looks familiar. I can't put my finger on it, but I remember what you looked like as a child." I was now confused.
"That is very odd... perhaps it is just a coincidence." I smiled and picked up my purse from the couch.
"Perhaps." He smiled back but still looked confused. I decided to take his hand and distract him from his confusion. His expression immediately changed. He seemed so pleased. He grinned ear to ear.
"How about we go?" I smiled with him. He nodded his head and we headed out.
As soon as we stepped out I noticed his beautiful silver corvette c7. I was amazed over it.
He saw my expression and laughed. "It took me three years to save up for this beauty." He smiled with pride.
"It's truly a sight to see." I laughed as he opened up the car door for me.
He quickly got in on the other side and started up the car. "Where to?" He said while pulling out his GPS.
"The Seattle Technical Laboratory." And then we were on our way.
It wasn't such a quiet ride. We talked about anything and everything, but around 5:30 he asked me a serious question that shocked me. "Grace, if I were to..." he gulped nervously "to ask you what you were doing with these things... would you tell me the truth?" I wasn't prepared for what to say. I, myself did not know what I was doing with these objects, but I nodded to his question. "Then would you please tell me?"
"I was sent here by a friend to get these things. I know it is to build something, but I do not know what yet. I can assure you though, it is not lethal. It will not cause harm to anyone." I smiled to him. I told him the truth.
He smiled to me and held my hand. "I'm glad you're telling me the truth." The rest of the ride was pleasant.
We got there just in time. I told him to park far enough away to where he could see me but not see what all I was doing. I told him to wait in the car.
I got out my phone to call Ephah. "What car is his? What does he look like?"
"He should have a red lexus and he has jet black hair." Right as he said that I saw him.
"What is his name, hurry, I see him."
"Dr. Clenshaw."
I made my way towards Dr. Clenshaw. I looked back at Ezra who was steadily watching me. I was nervous. I wasn't ready for this.
"Excuse me, Dr. Clenshaw?" I approached him.
"May I help you?" He looked puzzled.
I was nervous. I took a deep breath. There was no going back now. I had to finish my mission.
"My name is Grace Fulman, daughter of James Fulman... I believe you have something that I need..."
