Ezra looked at me and let out a huge sigh "well our first date seemed to be a little different from what I imagined..." he laughed playfully.

"Date?" I asked, I didn't mean to sound rude, I just did not think that he thought of me that way.

"Yes... I hope this doesn't mean that there won't be another?" The side of his mouth twitched, I could tell he didn't want that.

"Of course there will be another, how about we finish that date that should've happened in the first place?" I smiled and grabbed his arm while he escorted me to his car. He then went back and picked up the safe from the ground. Somehow I trusted Ezra, I felt as if maybe he could help me in all of this mess.

What a foolish thought though, it would be idiotic of me to include him in this! I don't know how dangerous this could be!

Time will tell though...

Sitting at dinner I stared into his eyes. His beautiful hazel green eyes... I couldn't help but to find myself mesmerized by how incredible he was.

All the sudden Ephah's voice popped into my mind "steal his card to the laboratory." Oh how I wish I would've ignored it and kept on with the night. "Grace, do not ignore my command. Get the card."

Ezra set his fork down and cocked his head to the side. "Grace, darling... your eyes... it looks as if they have changed colors!" I have heard that before; that's when Ephah was trying to trick me into falling for Luke so that he could control Luke and control me as well... I had to resist.

"I know! It is the oddest thing! Perhaps I should go to the bathroom to take a closer look at them."

He stood up "no, that won't be necessary, let me take a look."

As if that was what I needed; for Ezra to be closer to me. I had to resist the urge to get his lab card. I can't lose someone that I am starting to trust and have feelings for! Ephah can't control me this time.

Ezra walked closer to me, knelled on his knee, and looked closely into my eye. Our faces had been closer than ever... Somehow I ended up putting my hand on his leg, I felt the key card..

I casually pulled away and then Ezra did the unexpected.

He kissed me.

Like any teenage story, he kissed me with such passion. His hand cupping my cheek, and his other hand holding the back of my head.

I cannot think straight when emotions are blocking the way.

I pushed away.

Either I tell him, or I take the key card. I cannot disobey Ephah.

"I'm sorry, did I do something wrong?" He asked while he had a sad look on his face.

"No... no it's not something you did... it's something that I'm supposed to do..." Could I trust him with this secret? Would Ephah find out?

Life is all about taking chances, right?

"What do you mean, Grace?"

"Something odd has been happening lately, I don't know why yet, or what it is for, but I am sent to do these things... you know that." I paused noticing his nod. "Just now, my eyes turned colors and there was a voice telling me to do something to you, that I simply cannot do because I care for you."

"It sounds as if you're possessed." Ezra said.

"No, it's not that at all. It is more complicated than it seems. Somehow, a man tells me what to do. I have to do it, not for any leverage or anything but just because he controls me. I do not know how exactly, nor can I control it. He sometimes communicates with me through my thoughts, he knows he does it too... Just now he told me to steal your laboratory key card, and I cannot do that, because I care too much for you. However I know bad things will happen if I don't get the key card..."

"Grace, you sound insane! You are really trying to get me to hand over that key card to you, aren't you!? I am not a fool!" What I said sounded so unrealistic. I could see how he would be suspicious.

"Ezra, please.... Just let me ex-" He cut me off

"Please what? What do you have to explain to me? That you're using me? Grace, this isn't the first time that this has happened!"

"Ezra, I am not using you. Trust me, if I were using you, you would know. I wouldn't have told you this secret."

"You mean that lie..." He got up and took his keys and threw a fifty on the table. "Find your own ride home. It was nice meeting you."

He walked out.

I ran after him and couldn't see anything.

"Ezra, wait! Please come back!" Then I heard a the screeching of the cars wheels on the pavement as he drove off quickly leaving me at the entrance of the restaurant.

I couldn't call someone to come get me, but I was four hours away from home, I had no car, no money, and most importantly, no generator.
