Chapter 5

4 years later...

Jungkook's age: 10 years old

"How many times do I have to tell you, stop touching the rose?!"

"B-But Rosie is beautiful..." Jungkook muttered with his lips puckered up, "I won't get hurt by it, I promise!"

"Last time you promised, but you still hurt yourself. Don't take me wrong. I don't care about you. But if you get hurt, you'll burden the whole orphanage so please, you're already a burden, don't make you, the burden heavier okay?!" Mrs Lim, the new dean of the orphanage yelled at Jungkook.

Jungkook just pouted sadly. His sensitive self makes him sobbed silently. Ever since the previous dean of the orphanage, Mrs Lee died, his life is getting harder and harder, especially when Mrs Lim is around.

"Only know how to cry. Can't you do something better other than crying?!"

"W-What should I do, Mrs Lim?" Jungkook asked softly.

"Kneel down and stay here, don't move at all!!" Mrs Lim demanded. She smirked when she saw the little boy did obey her words, kneeling down on the hard ground without protesting.

"Keep kneeling until I tell you to get up!" Mrs Lim said, walking back to the orphanage, leaving Jungkook alone in the small garden of the orphanage.

Jungkook continue sobbed, crying as he doesn't even know what did he does wrong.

A small scream escaped from his lips when something hit his shoulder hardly. He turned around, found a few teenagers, which is probably 13 years old laughing at him.

One of them picked up the football that they used to hit Jungkook, "Look at you!! You're so pathetic!!" He pointed his finger at Jungkook, and his friends laughed along with him.

Jungkook whimpered, more tears slipped out from his wide doe eyes, "I-I'm not pathetic..."

"How are you not when no one in this orphanage likes you? Aunty Lim treat all of us so well but you, you always get scolded by her! No one likes you, weirdo!!"

Jungkook just stay there, listening how those immature teenagers insult him. He felt so sad and so helpless. It's true that no one likes him.

"N-No one likes me..." Jungkook mumbled to himself, felt nothing but sadness. He just hope that things will change one day in the future.

5 years later...

Jungkook's age: 15 years old

Jungkook kneel on the garden alone. He tried to make a flower crown out of the small flowers he has but he can't. He wanted more flowers but he sure doesn't want to get punished by Mrs Lim.

Kids and teenagers run around the garden while chatting and playing and Jungkook is all alone with no friends.

He's really lonely and he wishes someone could talk to him. So eventually he got a habit, which is talking to his flowers and ring necklace.

He hold the ring necklace with his hands carefully, "A-Ahjussi..."

Yes, Jungkook still remember there's an Ahjussi once appeared in his life, but he can't recall how Taehyung looks.

"Y-You said you'll give kookie shiny rings... You told Kookie to stay with you but why kookie is all alone in here?" Jungkook asked to basically no one, tears soon filled in his doe eyes.

"Aunty Lee said you're scary and a meanie. And she even said I'll marry you once I reached 18. I don't want to die..." Jungkook sniffled, hiccuping cutely. His cheeks is rosy pink as he cried too much, doe eyes shines even brighter than any other jewelry and his slight curly hair makes him looking more perfect than he could ever be.

He's getting more beautiful day by day but no one in the orphanage appreciate his beauty.

"Jungkookie is scared, Ahjussi..." He mumbled pitifully, but sadly, Taehyung can't hear him.
