His head was pounding as he banged it against the wall one...two...three times. He couldn't breathe. Couldn't think. His ears began to ring as he finally sat down on his bed. Putting his hands over his mouth, Jake stifled the loud and breathless sobs that rose from his empty chest.
He closed his eyes, took a deep breath, and thought to himself.
What have you done?
A new sob arose from him, shattering the silence in which he trusted to keep what he was about to do as quiet as possible. He couldn't do it anymore. He didn't want to feel anything anymore. He didn't want to breathe, to live.
He wanted to die.
And so he did. On Thursday, June 7th, 2014, Jake Kennings committed suicide inside his dark soccer-themed room. His brother found his limp body hanging from the ceiling fan above his bed. His lips were blue, and he appeared to be smiling.
