THE CAPTAIN WAITED.His oak tinted irises were heavily fixed at the person before him. He noticed that she had halted from her hum. Silence then pervaded as both were only looking at each other. The latter began to take her hand, pulling it in front of him. Daichi slowly exhaled.
"I have nothing else to offer but pure and good intentions." He proceeded to explain, breaking the sudden pause. "Please trust me in that." A reassuring smile was later shown as he had continued his statement.
"So give me a chance—" Daichi spoke, asking her. "—in making you fall for me."
Nao saw the absoluteness that had reflected from his eyes. She was somehow tugged by his words—the way he had delivered them with utmost sincerity. Perhaps it was a skill that he had eventually gained as a captain. He knew how to move emotions.
"D-Daichi-san..." The Fuji stuttered, her face flushed. She clutched the petaled bracelet hidden under the helm of her jacket. It was her designated uniform as the team's new manager. "Are you sure?"
It was not like she had doubted him. Although, there was nothing wrong in wanting to make certain. Daichi then gave her one of his kindest smiles upon hearing her question. He nodded with unbridled confidence.
"Certain as the bluest sky in summer and the golden leaves in autumn."
Nao was contented with his answer, loving how he used both of their favorite colors as examples. She returned the gesture, mirroring his smile while grasping his hand. Through it, he already knew her supposed reply. The Fuji then saw the curl on the captain's face widened—happy.
