Daryl's P.O.V.

I look down at the girl in my arms and she looks uo at me with a scared expression. "Mated?" I ask confused, "What the hell does that fuckin' mean?"

"Look Daryl she isn't exactly human," Beth mumbled, "She is a wolf."

"So wait what the fuckin' woman said was danm true!" I yell.

I get up fast and place Alex on the bed, then march out of the cell. I didn't get far until i fell to the ground in pain.

"Daryl." Beth says coming over to help me.

"Get away from me!" I yell pulling myself up using the rails, "Ya and that danm dog!"

I went to walk off thinking i was fine but i wasn't. I fell to the ground once again but this time i fell down the stairs. I groaned in pain as i hit every step and landed on the concrete with a thud.

"Daryl listen to me," Beth says running down the stairs, "she isn't a monster! She wont hurt you!"

"Ta hell ya say!" I yell.

Beth came over and helped me off the ground. I thought she was going to help me back to C but instesd she turned back to the stairs. I didn't have the energy to fight so i just let her take me up the stairs. We went back to the cell Alex laid in and when i saw her clutching her body my heart broke.

"What's wrong with 'er?" I ask my voice low at the sight in front of me.

"She is dying Daryl," Beth gives me a sad look, "only you can help her." She sits me in a chair and walks over to her. Alex cries out in pain as Beth moves her so she could face me.

Her skin wasn't the tan it was when i found her, instead it was pale. Her lips were a purple/blue color instead of pink. Her eyes ain't ocean blue anymore, they are a very light blue, almost white. Her hair was white as snow. You could look at her once and tell she was dying.

"H...How c...can I h...help her?" I ask feeling like i have to keep her alive.

"You have to accept her as your mate." Beth whispered pushing Alex's white hair behind her ear.

"H-"

"Y..You d..don't h..have to," Alex's soft voice cut in, "I c..could die o..off a..and y..you w..will h..have p..pain f..for a f..few d..days. Then y..your body w..would f..forget me a..and you c..could l..live as n..normal as it g..gets n..now."

I felt sad at her words. She has already impacted my life so much and I've only known her for about two weeks, counting both froms. I get out of the chair and slowly walk over to her. I lay down on the empty space in front of her and Beth leaves to give us privacy.

"I can't just let ya die," I say wipping the tear that fell from her eyes.

"And I c..can't l..let you f..feel l..like you h..have to do t..this." She whispers.

"What's bad with bein' mated ta a wolf anyway?" I ask.

"A..Are you a..accepting m..me?" She ask.

Am I? I mean she is very attractive. I feel this protectiveness over her. I feel like i have to keep her alive and well. Wound that be accepting her? I smile knowing that it is.

"Yes," i answer running my thumb over her cheek, "Yes i accept you as mine."
