Prompt: Camilo has a nightmare and Felix helps him to calm down.
Camilo is 3 here, and is still sharing the nursery with Mirabel.
I need some fluff to balance out the emotional distress of the last couple of chapters.

The little opened and closed the door quietly, so as to not wake his roommate, who was just a few feet away from him, sleeping soundly in her bed. Once the doorknob clicked, his little feet padded against the ground as he ran towards his parents room with tears trickling down his face. When he got to their door, he opened it carefully and stepped in, pausing when he passed through the doorway. He had been so sure that he needed to come and get his mom. She'd always told him that he could come to her if he needed her, but he had woken her up so many nights in the past couple of weeks, the little boy was now suddenly nervous to wake up his mother. He contemplated turning back and just waking up Mirabel, but he was startled back to reality when he heard someone sitting up in the bed.
"Camilo," his father asked tiredly, rubbing one of his eyes as his son quickly ran over to his side of the bed. He looked down in confusion. "What are you doing up in the middle of the night, mi hijo?"
Camilo's bottom lip quivered as he hugged his dad's leg that was hanging off of the side of the bed. "There are monsters in the walls, papá."
Félix frowned. Looking over at his sleeping wife, he reached down and picked his son up off of the floor, saying in a whisper, "Why don't we go somewhere else so we don't wake mamá?"
Camilo nodded and clung to his father's neck as Félix walked out of the room, shutting the door softly behind them. Félix walked down the stairs into the main room and sat down on the couch under one of the balconies, pulling Camilo away from him so he could see his son's face. The sight made his heart hurt.
Camilo looked at him with teary eyes that practically shouted fear. Félix wiped a tear from his son's cheek as it fell.
"Tell me what happened, Cami."
Camilo sucked in a shaky breath and told his dad about how there were monsters in the walls and how they had crawled out from the walls and from under his bed to hurt him and eat him. Félix could feel his son's heart racing as he rubbed his back in comforting circles.
"And-and then," Camilo continued. "And then I ran away to find you, but I couldn't find you and when I did find you, you started chasing me too."
Félix wanted to laugh, because anyone old enough to differentiate between a dream and real life could tell the difference, but he held it in because it was his son's dream and his son was scared. He just hugged his son as he leaned forward again, crying into his papa's shoulder.
"Oh, it's okay, Camilo," Félix assured the distraught three year old. "It was just a nightmare--hey." Félix made his son look at him, cupping the boy's cheeks. "I would never let anyone hurt you, okay hijo?" Camilo nodded. "I won't let anyone hurt you or your sister or your mamá. It was just a bad dream, sí?"
Camilo nodded and Félix returned the gesture, pulling his son back into him. The pair stayed like that until they fell back to sleep on the couch.
Pepa was the first one up the next morning, not missing the absence of her husband. Confused, she wandered out of her room quietly. She was going to head to the kitchen to see if he was there to snag something before Julieta got up and made breakfast, but she stopped and smiled, a cloud appearing above her head with a rainbow, when she saw her husband and son on the couch just a few feet away. She took in the image for a few more moments before she walked over and tapped on Félix's shoulder. Félix opened his eyes and tiredly looked at his wife who was standing above him. It took him another moment to remember where exactly he was and why there was a weight on his chest.
"Hóla," he whispered, clearing his throat quietly as he sat up. He froze when Camilo stirred, but relaxed when Camilo didn't wake. He looked back up at his wife. "He had a nightmare last night. I guess I never made it back upstairs either."
Pepa snorted, covering her mouth and hoping that she didn't wake up Dolores. She waved a hand of dismissal at her husband, saying, "No worries, cariño. I just figured you wouldn't want to be out here when everyone else starts to get up." She reached down and rubbed her son's back lightly.
Félix nodded, giving his wife a quick kiss on the forehead before he headed back up the stairs with a sleeping toddler in his arms. He went to open the nursery before deciding against it. Mirabel was a relatively light sleeper, and he didn't want to wake her up. So, he turned and headed back to his room. He laid Camilo on Pepa's side of the bed before getting on his side. Camilo curled into the blanket, making Félix smile softly as he tried to go back to sleep.

I have had no motivation for this story or my other one I'm writing right now. I don't know why, but I'll have so much motivation for writing and then just like a snap of the fingers it's gone.
Anyway, I hope you guys liked this chapter. If you have any requests, feel free to comment! I'd be happy to try some of your ideas as well.
