Beatrice Sanchez’s P. O. V.
“He’s here..” Putol ko dito na napatingin sa akin. “In Philippines.. And I have an idea of how you can find him..”
Natahimik naman ito at napatingin sa akin ng matagal bago muling nagsalita.
“How sure are you?” Naninigurong tanong nito sa akin.
“Stella confirmed it to us last night. You came late so you didn’t hear any of it.” Sagot ko dito. Hindi ito nagsalita at nanahimik lang. “Stella and I came to our school earlier today to ask the school admins if Stanley study in the same school where I am studying. They confirmed that Stanley was really studying there. Stella asked for his address and they gave it to her but she won’t let me have it too. So, maybe if you could help me to hack the school’s data system then we can find Stanley and bring him home---”
“Can you still hear yourself, Beatrice?” Seryoso nitong putol sa akin.
“What?” Nagtataka kung tanong.
“Beatrice..” Huminga ito ng malalim bago ako binalingan. “It’s always Stanley you’d been thinking about. Beatrice, can’t you, even just now,” huminto ito at naaswang tumingin sa akin. “Prioritize yourself. Take care of yourself—”
“I am taking care of myself, Shield! I just want you to, at least, help me to find our brother!” Umiiyak na sigaw ko dito.
“Beatrice, if Stanley is interested to see you—to see us, then, he will show his self to us! But he didn’t!” Naubos ko na ata ang mahabang pasensya ni Shield sa akin.
“S-Shield..”Umiiyak akong niyakap ni Shield.
“Plus the fact that you want me to hack your school’s data system? Beatrice, it’s Stella we are talking here. Stella might cares for us but she will never let anyone of us to hinder her way, get it? And who knows, if what if we hack their system and find nothing because Stella already block it? Because she already block our way? You will hope for nothing, Beatrice..”
Hindi ako nakapagsalita. Malaki nga ang posibilidad na tama si Shield dahil iyon ang pinaka ayaw ni Stella, ang may humaharang sa bawat misyon nya. At ang kaalaman na maari kung gawin ang lahat para makita lang si Stanley ay malaking sagabal na kay Stella.
“Shield, I just want to see Stanley.. I promise him.. that I-I will save him..” Nag-umpisang pumatak ang mga luha ko habang nakayingin sa kanya.
“And we are all aware, Bea. But my point is..” Tumingin ito sa mga mata ko. “Have mercy for yourself, Bea. Because seriously, you have no time to fix yourself. Have some fun. Go out with your friends, bond with them or go to some random bar and relax yourself.”
Inakay ako nito palabas ng kubo habang pinupunasan ang mga luha ko.
“Okay?” Nakangiti nitong tanong sa akin.
Tumango ako pero agad na nawala ang ngiti ni Shield nung makita si Drake sa likod ko at matiim na nakatitig sa amin. Tumalim ang mga mata ni Shield habang nakatingin kay Drake kaya agad na akong nagsalita.
“He’s with me,” imporma ko dito na mabagal na tumango.
“Don’t forget my suggestions, okay?” May babalang tanong nito bago hinawi ang ilang hibla ng buhok ko.
“I won’t.. but,” tumingin ako sa kabuuhan ni Shield na palagi kung pinupuna at sa kubo nito na gawa sa pinagtagpi-tagping mga fly hood. “Shield.. buy some decent clothes and please, do live in a decent house too—”
“Your mouth, sister!” Pigil nito sa akin. “My house and clothes are decent. Now, if you don’t need anything else, you may now go home straight.” Madiing sabi nito bago palihim na sinulyapan ng matalim si Drake.
