(y/n)'s POV

After he climbs up, you tightly wrap your arms around him. "Please don't do that again. You really scared me." He puts his arms around you and places his head in the crook of your neck. "I'm sorry Bonita, I didn't mean to scare you. It won't happen again, promise." You awkwardly pull away from each other, and you can feel a pink tint on your face. You feel you're probably just imagining it because of the poor lighting, but his face looks pink too. He holds out his hand to you and mutters, "If you want, so you don't lose me again." He's diverting eye contact, so you can't really tell if he's serious or not, but not wanting to almost lose him again, you accept his hand and continue on your way. As you're walking, you feel Camilo starting to drag you because he began to run. "Camilo! Why are we running?" "There's a rat!" "Are you scared of rats or something?" "Wha- no! If we can catch the rat we can have it tell Antonio we're trapped here, or maybe Tio Bruno, he has a thing for rats." Rats. Fun. You and Camilo continue to chase the rat until you're both out of breath and in a strange room that seems to have once had life in it, but now has nothing. You walk over to a crack in the wall and peer through it. It reveals the dining room you were just eating dinner in a moment ago. You turn back to Camilo, "What is this place?" Just in that moment he shapeshifted into someone with long arms and caught the rat. He shapeshifted back and turned to you. "Oh, this is where Tío Bruno lived for 10 years while he pretended to have run away." Wow. That was a lot. You were now watching the rat that was desperately trying to escape Camilo's grip. "Uh Camilo, the rat." He looked down, and then back up, "Oh right!" He lifted the rat up so it was eye level with him. "Listen here buddy, I need you to tell Antonio, or Bruno, or whoever, that we're trapped in here and need help getting out. Okay?" You may be crazy, cause you swear that the rat nodded his head. "Good." Camilo let go of the rat and it scurried off. "Are you sure that this plan is gonna work?" Camilo turns to you and smiles, "Not the slightest bit!" Well that's comforting. You roll your eyes and sit down on the ground. "Well, since we're gonna be here for awhile, what do you want to do?" He sits down across from you and suggest "Play a game?" You nod your head in agreement. "Two Truths and a Lie?" He puts a mischievous grin on his face, "Sounds great! You first." You sit and think for a minute. "Okay so, my favorite color is (f/c), I have a boyfriend, my favorite animal is a (f/a)." He winces slightly like my answer bothered him. "The lie is you don't have a boyfriend...?" "Yep!" He lets out a breath and seems a lot less tense. "Wow, was it that obvious that I'm single?" Camilo seems slightly taken aback and gets all flustered . "Oh no! I uh just assumed since you just moved here and um everything. It's not that you're ugly or anything, you're really pretty and-" You just barrel over with laughter. Then he begins to laugh too. "It's fine Camilo. I was just kidding." "Haha yeah." After a couple more turns, Camilo says, " Alright this one's really hard. I have two siblings, you want to hang out with me tomorrow, my last name isn't Madrigal." "Hmmm. That really is a hard one." You sit there and pretend to ponder the possible answer. "You know, I could have sworn your last name was Madrigal, but maybe not." You count on your fingers and do some other dumb calculating movements. "No, your last name is definitely Madrigal, so that must be the lie." Camilo applauds your genius deduction. "So that means you do want to hang out tomorrow?" You sigh and smile. "I'd love to." Suddenly, you both hear something coming from the other side of the wall. You scramble over to the crack and peer through it. On the other side is Bruno, who seems to be looking for something. You turn back to Camilo, "It's Bruno!" You both go up to the crack and start screaming his name. He hears you and comes over. "(y/n)? Camilo? We've been looking everywhere for you!" Camilo replies, "Sorry Tio Bruno I was showing (y/n) around and now we're trapped. Can you get us out? " He tells us he will get us out, and sure enough a few minutes later, Bruno shows up in the room. He leads the two of you out, and you go back to your parents, who scold you. Camilo's parents don't seem thrilled either, because Pepa has a cloud over her head. You both apologize for your absences and promise it won't happen again. Your older brother elbows you and sneers, "So alone with a boy, eh? My, I didn't think you were that type of person (y/n)." You were sure your face was a bright red. "W-we didn't do anything like that." "Your face says otherwise.", he snickers. You pray Camilo didn't hear your brother's comments. Thankfully, your mother declares that it's time for your family to leave. You hug Mirabel and promise her that the two of you will catch up later. As you and your family are walking out, you turn around and holler, "Bye Camilo! See you tomorrow!" He waves to you and screams, "Bye (y/n)!" You head home, excited for the next day.
