The first day into Katsuki's internships ended with Gran Torino going to bed after eating, but his first full day of his internships was soon to begin the next day, where hopefully he would learn more about the power of One for All and his own.
In the morning, the two began with takoyaki for breakfast, a small disagreement between the males about the food being a dessert and not a breakfast item while Gran Torino remarked that he enjoyed sweets. The argument came to a close with the elderly man wacking the young boy with his cane and shouting about them wasting daylight if they continued arguing. They both headed back up for the rooftop; Katsuki in his costume, holding his boots in one hand as they climbed the stairs. There, he continued his practice with using his quirk at his feet, making progress one by one as he got more and more used to using it this way.
"You're a fast learner." Gran Torino sent out praise that made Katsuki turn to him as he pointed with his cane out to the clear blue sky, requesting, "I want to see you jump from building to building on the other side of the street. I want to test something."
"Oh, yes, sir." Katsuki nodded back to his mentor before turning to where his staff was pointing to, heading over to the edge of the building until he lifted himself up to stand onto the brick edge, glancing down.
Even if he wasn't completely used to projecting his Explosions to his feet, he always had his palms to catch him.
Squatting down before pushing himself off the ledge, Katsuki spread out his limbs like he was flying until he moved his palm under him to make himself do a frontflip, sparking his feet as he landed on the first building with a roll. It was the opposite from Gran Torino's place, so looking one way then the other, he decided on progressing to the left, running along the surface with his bare, scratched up feet.
As he reached the edge, Katsuki placed his hand around the rim of the ledge before kicking his legs forward, firing up his birth quirk for an extra boost as he twisted in the air tucked like a ball until rolling against the concrete, not pausing as he continued running when he pushed himself up.
He did this for a while, his adrenaline pumped as he continued on before he came back to Gran Torino, his teacher's chin in his hand and a thoughtful expression in his blank gaze.
"You're good, but you lack the speed you used to have now that you're trying to adapt to a new technique. We should try something else that you can get more familiar with that feels natural." Gran Torino declared after a moment more of thought, jumping out of the dusty and filthy chair, walking toward the sweaty student with his cane.
"I can keep practicing... I'll get it if I keep-" Katsuki watched the short male walk past him and head toward the edge of the rooftop, jumping up onto the broken and chipping brick railing.
"You can keep practicing on your own time, but this is my training time." Gran Torino interrupted him, dropping his cane at Katsuki's feet with the blond paying his attention back to his sensei, with him teaching, "Good. One for All isn't just about quirk boosting, it also gives you speed and strength. I'm sure you felt stronger and faster when you practiced a little yesterday, but that's not everything about this quirk. Activate One for All."
"'Activate'? But I thought One for All was always on?" Katsuki questioned, raising an eyebrow toward Gran Torino.
"What? No! What has Toshinori been teaching you...?" Gran Torino huffed out with irritation, continuing his rant while Katsuki listened quietly, "His only quirk and he can't even teach another about it... Had to call in old Gran Torino instead..."
"Wait, 'his only quirk'? Wasn't All Might born with a quirk?" Katsuki was getting more and more confused with each sentence that came from his teacher.
"What?! He wasn't born with a quirk. Has Toshinori told you anything about myself, boy? Geez, he chose the clueless kid..." Gran Torino groaned to himself while the world stopped around Katsuki.
