Seoyeon's POV

"What are you doing?" His voice made me stand straight and face him with a nervous, faint smile.

"I-I'm sorry, I didn't m-mean to pry." I stuttered and tried to let out a chuckle, but I stopped and got worried that I might have angered him, especially seeing his plain, blank face. "I-I should go. Please enjoy your dinner." I bowed and was about to walk.

"No, wait." He said, and it made me halt. "It's not your fault for being curious. I left it scattered like that, so don't apologize." He added as he walked closer.

"Is she Hwayoung's mother?" I asked, head still lowered. "I mean, she has resemblance of the woman in those pictures." I reasoned out and was surprised to hear him chuckle, causing for me to lift my gaze and see him smiling softly at me.

"Really? I thought Hwayoung looked more like me." He joked, but then sighed as he looked at the pictures on his bed. "Well, her name was Seyoung, and yes, she's Hwayoung's mother."

"She's very beautiful." I praised and saw his smile grow.

"She was indeed a very beautiful woman." He agreed.

This is the first time he talked about her. I can see pain and longing in his eyes while he looks at her pictures. But then, he began to pick them up and placed them in an envelope.

"Was she the green paint in your canvas?" I asked, remembering the analogy I've mentioned to him.

"Unfortunately, yes." He answered before finally putting the envelope in his drawer.

I decided to sit down on the sofa as I watch him head here. "Oh, so it's been a while since you stopped painting it, huh." I commented.

"I have the been mixing blue and yellow for years, I can't seem to get the shade of green that I need." He uttered and finally sat on the other side, "Or maybe I already have." He said and looked at me.

I fell speechless and just flaunted a small smile. "I wish for you to get that shade of green paint sooner."

"Me too, Seoyeon." He then looked at the tray of food on the table. "What did you bring me for dinner?" He asked curiously as he reach for the bowl and chopsticks.

"Oh, it's rabokki." And I watch him get some for himself, "I know it's not that grand, but—"

"Thank you, Seoyeon. I really appreciate this." He cut me off and slurped the ramen noodles. "Thish ish sho good." He uttered while covering his mouth, making me laugh a little.

"Please eat slowly." I warned and handed him the bottled water, that he gladly accepted.

Elbowing the pillow I placed on my lap, letting my chin rest on my palm, I just gazed at him while he enjoys the small token I've made for him. I'm glad he's eating well, knowing it's just a simple meal.

"Thank you for saving me," I spoke softly, but it made me giggle when he faced me with both cheeks round and filled with food. "Goodness, look at you!" I teased when I saw the stain on the side of his lips.

I took the table napkin on the tray and moved closer to wipe the stain. As I was wiping it off, I looked up and met his gaze. His eyes, filled with this unknown feeling, were very still as they stayed on mine. I don't know why, but it felt as if his eyes were trying to say something yet my mind can't comprehend what it is. And all of a sudden, I just felt my heart, beating loudly just like back in the newspaper game. But then, I came back to my senses and moved away from him. I lowered my head to hide my blushing face. What was I doing?

"You know, it's been a while since I had rabokki." He said, I just hummed and didn't dare to look at him. "My mother doesn't really let us eat instant foods, like ramen."
