Chapter 1//I Won

*flashback*

"Kai, walk the track till the end of class! What part of NO talking don't you understand. You may be smart, but you sure don't listen!" Coach Grey shouted.

I rolled my eyes, "Yes sir!"

This has been my second lap and already I was about to die. Track can wear you out. I look to my left to see the boys practicing on the football field as usual.

I was walking minding my own business when I hear the boys yelling. Only to find them yelling at me.

I took my hand to block the hot Sun from my crystal eyes to see why they could possibly hollaring at me.

"KAI MOVE!" the whole team shouted. All except one.

I looked up to see a kicked football flying at my direction.

Too late.

There I was lying on the grass, everyone ran towards me as I was sprawled on the hard ground. Standing up slowly and wiping the grass from shorts, I aggressively picked up the ball that knocked me out.

Coach Grey spoke calmly, "You okay Woods?" then began to yell. "NOW who punted the FREAKING ball at Woods!"

The whole team looked at each other whispering. Then one of them pushed through the team towards Coach Grey. That someone is Non other than Tyler Freaking Hastings.

"That would be me, sir." He chuckled.

My anger got the best of me, I threw the football at him. Bulls eye. Right in the nuts. Hopefully he can't have babies I thought.

He dropped to the ground. Everyone started went from "dang" "oooooo" and gasping to laughing.

"Now we are even!" I nearly screamed, you could see the veins in my neck pop.

That's when I knew.

I officially loathed Tyler Hastings.

I was on my way to lunch with my best friend Kendall Fields. We have known each other since first grade when she spilled pink paint all over my white dress. Ever since then we became inceparable. She and I are sisters, we both have brown hair, except our eye colours are different hers are chestnut brown and mine are crystal blue. She has always been eye candy to the boys where I am the socially awkward half.

We make our entrance in the cafeteria and sit down at our usual table at lunch. We were followed by two of my best friends, James Wright who is actually dating my best friend Kendall. They been together for a year now, I gotta give it to them they are the cutest couple in our grade. Following James was my dearest friend, Caleb Hill. He is a stud. No I do not like him. Oh did I forget to mention, they both are football players at North Wood? Meaning they play for my enemy Tyler Hastings.

"Hey Ken, hey Kai." They both greeted us. James gave Kendall a peck on the cheek gag before sitting next to her. While Caleb smacked my head ow before sitting next to me.

So abusive.

"So Kai," Caleb spoke, "Wanna get 'Nerdy' with me?" James reached over the table fist pumping Caleb as in saying, "Good one."

"You're so immature, grow up Hill." I hissed crossing my arms, but I couldn't help but laugh.

Kendall elbowed James' rib which I was happy about and as in payback James grabbed her toosh.

"James!" She squealed and he pecked at her lips, then that turned a peck to a make-out session.

"Ahem." Caleb and I interrupted.

James and Kendall thankfully stopped.

Caleb turned to face me.

"So, Kai will you do me a favor? May you, with Me on top, get me a candy bar?" He asked and gave me puppy eyes. I would've said no, but his crystal blue eyes got to me.

"Ya, ya, whatever." I said standing up.

What candy bar does he want? Ah, Snickers will do.

"75 cents is your total, Ms.Woods." The lunch lady said.

I handed her the change.

"Thank you, have a nice day." She smiled.

As I went to walk back to my table, I felt someones leg meet with foot. Then before I could think or speak I had face planted the dirty ground. Everyone in the cafeteria, even the nice, at the time lunch lady laughed at me. I never felt so humiliated in my life.Trying to get up from my fall, someones hand reached out to mine and pulled me up.

"I'm so and I mean this from the bottom of my heart, I'm sorry."

I looked up only to realize that voice came from Tyler Hastings.

"You should feel sorry, you jerk!" I replied, nearly shouting.

Tyler smirked. "You and I plus the whole cafeteria know, I didn't mean too."

"You and I know YOU did this on purpose." I said giving him a death stare.

Tyler blew me a pretend kiss, "Prove it Kailene." He turned to his poesy and they call gave him high fives.

Whats wrong with these people.

"You're right, I can't prove it. But what I can do is this." Without no hesitation I punched Tyler Hastings in the stomach. Thanks to my brother who taught me how to fight my punches strengthened.

Now the whole cafeteria went from laughing and "ooing" at me to Tyler. Basically everybody got up and surrounded him like he was some kind of King.

I walked away with pride.

Kendall, James, and Caleb ran towards me.

"Kai! Is my candy bar okaY?" Caleb asked. This boy and his food.

I threw the bar at him hoping he wouldn't catch it, but he did. He played football of course he would catch.

James slightly smacked Calebs face, "You seriously are worried about a freaking snickers bar?"

Kendall hugged me, then spoke, "Kai I hope you are all right, I can't believe that Jerk did that. Lunch ends in 10. Lets sit down."

We made our way back to our lunch table.

I scanned the lunch room. By now everyone went back to their tables and Tylers 'crew' helped him up and sat down as well. Little brat.

"Guys, I can't believe Kai punched Tyler though. Damn girls got guts." Caleb broke the silence.

Kendall and James clapped for standing up for my self. Then James stood on top of the table.

Oh my, what is he doing?

"Get down James!" Kendall demanded.

"Shh, Ken I got this. Hey everyone! Give it up for Kai. She punched Ty this is the second time she put him in his place. Give it for Kai!"

The whole cafeteria clapped for me and chanted my name.

I glared over at Tyler where our eyes locked. I quickly turned away. My hate for him grew more and more each and everyday.

Day 1. I won.
