I walked into Culhane's loft

I walked into Culhane's loft.

"Okay, let's back it up. Why on earth would Jeff want to marry me so badly that he'd have Monica manipulate me?" Fallon asked.

"Marriage is the ultimate merger," Culhane said.

"Everybody knows Carringtons don't marry without a prenup," I said. Fallon and Culhane turned to look at me.

"When did you get here?" Fallon asked.

"Long enough ago for me to know what you're talking about," I said. Fallon gave me a look.

"Fine, but you don't leave my side," Fallon said. I nodded.

"Maybe this is to spite your father. When you wanted to leave, Jeff was quick to back you. And smug every chance he got to rub it in," Culhane said.

"As smug as you are now? You're loving that you were right about Jeff," Fallon said.

"I don't mind it. I do mind you wearing his ring, though," Culhane said.

"I had to make him believe that I was into him, not onto him. The closer I stay, the better chance I have of figuring out what the hell's going on. I mean, what if he's been using me this whole time? And I let him. This is exactly why I don't trust people. But he was always so..." Fallon trailed off. "Oh, my God. Remember that program Jeff gave me when we were trying to erase Cristal's affair? Told me to run it on the server,"

"And you said it worked," Culhane said.

"It did. But what if it gave him access? I always wondered how he knew so much about the Venezuela deal. I mean, what if he's been reading all of our e-mails, all of our texts?" Fallon said grabbing her phone off the table.

"What are you doing?" Culhane asked.

"I'm testing my theory. I'm going to write you an e-mail professing my undying love for Jeff," Fallon said.

"Can't wait to read that one," Culhane said.

"I'm gonna say how happy I am you and I didn't work out, so I didn't have to get married in a church. Priests make me break out in hives," Fallon said.

"Is that true?" Culhane asked.

"It's bait. And we're gonna see if Jeff takes it," Fallon said. "Spence, don't you use your own private server?"

"I do," I said.

"Is it hackable?" Culhane asked.

"No. To hack my server he'd have to locate it and considering that I've got it sending signals from places all over the world I'll be safe," I said.

Timeskip

Fallon and I went to the Morell offices. Jeff was sat with his back to us.

"Always causing trouble, aren't you?" Fallon asked Jeff.

"Me? What did I do?" Jeff asked.

"Well, you nearly caused an accident in the parking lot," I said. "And nearly got me killed so you're already at the bottom of my least favorite future in-laws," Jeff chuckled.
