"You're okay! You're gonna be okay!" I told [Y/N], as Nick did his best to carry her and run at the same time. He was bigger, and stronger, which gave him somewhat of an advantage; although he wasn't as light-footed and agile as I was. I visibly tensed every time the Sergeant stumbled on loose rock or uneven ground, but he managed to regain his balance.

We stopped to give Nick a slight rest, while Merwin and I, kept guard, with our guns raised.

"What the fuck, man?!" Nick huffed, kneeling beside [Y/N].

"I don't know, man... It wasn't s'pose to play out like this." I admitted, keeping my gaze focused straight ahead, as I wiped a bead of sweat from my forehead.

"How are you holding up?" Merwin asked [Y/N], who responded with a slight groan as she shifted her weight around. "I'd rather-... not talk-... right now." she mumbled.

Suddenly, my radio began picking up on a signal, and a voice spoke back to us!

"Any call signs, this is King. Contact, contact! Taking fire! Does anyone copy? Over."

"That's, Rachel!" Nick exclaimed, a slight look of worry taking ahold of his usually well controlled features.

I pressed the button on my radio, "King, this is Mailman Two-One Actual. Say again. Over." I spoke into the radio, but got nothing back in response.
"King, this is Mailman Two-One Actual. How copy? Over." I tried again, but nothing. The line was dead. Damn rock.

"Shit..." I muttered.

"Plan of action, Lieutenant?" Merwin asked, not taking his gaze away from the hallway of loudly screeching abominations, that were getting closer.

"Find somewhere safe to set up a casualties Wing. [Y/N] needs an examination, pronto!" I ordered, but Nick didn't seem too keen on that idea.

"No, dude, we've established contact with Rachel, so she's gotta be nearby, and she needs our help... She's in trouble! Eric could be with her! I say we go find the Colonel and Mrs King." Nick suggested, not even sparing a glance at [Y/N], who was taking shallow breaths right beside him.

Had Nick completely lost his mind? One of our (wo)men were injured, and one of us was practically having to babysit her at all given times; yet Nick was wanting to charge into a gunfight?! [Y/N] was a civilian Medic. She wasn't trained the way us Marines were!

I shook my head, "That was an order Sergeant, not a suggestion!" I spat back, "We gotta find somewhere safe to set up camp, and get Brookes's leg checked out, before anythin' else! We'll search for Rachel and Eric after. If we find them along the way, then that's great." I explained, nodding my head towards the last remaining tunnel, "Now, that way! Let's go!"

Nick didn't look the slightest bit pleased, but he picked [Y/N] up again, and headed in the direction I ordered.

A good ten or fifteen minutes later, we came to a chasm, with a rather unstable looking ridge that went around the outside, pressed against a wall. I had been checking behind us the entire time, but it almost seemed as if those things had lost sight of us somewhere along the way, and we finally had a moment of peace.

That was until the sound of crying filled the air, and Nick gently passed [Y/N] to Merwin, before he rushed over to a kneeling figure in the distance.
"Colonel, that you?" Nick asked, pulling the blonde man up onto his feet. It was him alright, and he certainly was not in a good state.

"What happened to, Rachel?" Nick asked.

"We... We were ambushed by the enemy... He opened fire on us and... Rach... She fell." Eric stammered, as tears rolled down his face.
