It's Been A Long Day

"Hi, this is Jonathan Kimble, I can't come to the phone right now, leave a message and I'll try to get back to you."

I sighed, partly relieved, partly dissapointed.

*beep*

"Hi Jonathan, Jonny, um, sorry, hi it's y/n.  Um we met at that burger place the other night.  You might not remember me, you probably don't, but you gave me your card and I was thinking, well, I was hoping that maybe, we might be free together, I mean, both free one night and maybe we could, like get dinner.  Or drinks if that seems too formal.  Sorry.  This is y/n by the way, call me back, I mean if you want, I'm not trying to be pushy, sorry.  You can call but only if you feel like it... I do want you to just-"

I was cut off.  I hung up the phone and smacked myself hard in the forehead.  That was possibly the worst message anyone has ever left on planet Earth, you will never hear from that man again.  Nice. 

I groaned and threw my phone onto the nightstand.  I stood and started getting changed into my pajamas.  I almost put on my normal  pajamas with the dinosaurs on them but then at the last minute I decided to go for something a little more promiscuous.  They were a matching set of red white and blue satin pj's with a fire truck on the shirt, and yeah, my belly button was out.

I stretched out on my bed and let my arms hang off the side.  I jumped, startled, when I heard a little, "Oh!"

I looked towards the sound and there was Megamind standing in my doorway, mouth agape, looking at me stretched out in my sexiest pair of pajamas.  His cheeks went pink and he closed his mouth.

"Megamind, what are you doing!"

"Nothing, I mean, um, I don't know what I'm doing, I just came to tell you you left your wallet on the table and, oh my god I'm sorry."

He slammed the door and a second later I heard his door shut.  Then I heard a loud groan.  I grinned slightly.  For some reason I wasn't embarrassed about Megamind, my BOSS, mind you, seeing my naked belly button.  Maybe I should shoot my shot with Megamind, since Jonny probably wasn't happening.

At that very moment, like fate, my phone rang.  

"Um, hello?"

"Hi, who am I speaking to?"

"Who's asking?"

"Jonathan Kimble, is this y/n?

A gasped quietly to myself, 

"Yes, yes it is, hi Jonny, so you got my message obviously, about that-"

"Y/n, I was just calling to see if you were free tomorrow night.  For dinner."

I bit my lip and smiled to myself.

"Y-yes Jonny, that sounds great, what time."

"How about eight.  Meet me downtown at the corner of Summerfield and Hurst, how does that sound?"

"Perfect, I'll see you tomorrow night."

"Alright, see you there."

I hung up the phone. 

I had a tight ball in my stomach and my arms were covered in little goosebumps, just from the sound of his voice.  I didn't want to admit it before, since I didn't ever know if he was gonna call me back, but he was a hottie with a body.  Maybe not as hot as Megamind but-

Oh my god, what am doing, I can't think like that.  Jesus y/n, get a hold of yourself, what has gotten into me.

I laid down on my bed and snuggled in to the blankets, and stared at my phone on the bedside table.  I had to get my head  out of the gutter, or else, how I could I expect things to work out with Jonny.  I clicked off the lamp and thought about everything that had happened to day, as I drifted off to sleep.
