amelia frowned as her cast-mates began talking about plans for their week off.

for the second week of december, the producer had decided to give the cast a week where they could do whatever. jessie had proposed the idea of going on a trip around budapest, which everyone had started gushing about.

while talking, however, jessie noticed how quiet amelia was as she twirled her pesto with her fork. "lia? you're coming, right?"

everyone's eyes landed on amelia as she looked up from her food, she took in a deep breath, "i can't go," she said, and she saw the disappointed faces on her friends but she went on, "little women premieres on december 25 but i'm heading to london tomorrow for the press tour. then after i'm going to paris then new york."

"what did the crew say?" ben asked.

"i already told them prior to filming, actually, and they said it was alright." amelia said as she sipped on her ice tea, hoping it would ease the tension on her shoulders—it did nothing.

"is that why you've been filming your scenes nonstop lately?" amita said and amelia nodded weakly.

jessie's sad expression was the worst of all. "but this would be our first trip as a cast."

amelia sadly smiled as she placed her hand on top of jessie's, "i know and i hate that i can't go with you guys. but i play amy and it's important i have to be there, especially since emma won't be able to go." she had hoped they would get it, they were actors like her. "i'm so sorry, guys."

the cast slowly started to nod, some muttering 'it's okay, lia' until a noise had cause the attention to shift from amelia to freddy. he was laughing. freddy was laughing as he banged his fist on the table.

"i'm sorry," freddy kept saying, no remorse in his voice as he wiped a tear from his face. he was laughing so hard a tear came out but none of them knew what was so funny. amelia had a hunch, but there was nothing funny about it. "this is just so you, mel."

"excuse me?" amelia said as she gripped her fork just a little tighter.

"you asked me how i remembered you, right? well this is how i remember you." freddy was directly in front of amelia as he pointed his finger at the cast. "you bailing on friends for work. because that is all your life has been about, work, work work."

"freddy..." jessie said but freddy wasn't stopping.

freddy wasn't exaggerating when he told kit he hated the situation he was in. he hated how old feelings resurfaced when he and amelia talked about their 'firsts.' he hated how they almost kissed. he hated how she's seeing to someone else.

he hated how he was hurting her right now, actually. but he couldn't stop. he wanted her to hurt the same way he was. "what even is the point of having relationships—romantic or platonic—if you never have time for that person? it's raincheck after raincheck with you, amelia, have you noticed that?"

to say amelia was seeting would be an understatement. she leaned closer to the table, so that the people on nearby tables wouldn't hear. "we're doing this, here? really? god, how petty are you, freddy?"

"but i'm right, aren't i? you're always going on and on about how the people you love is the most important thing to you but when work comes along, they're nothing to you. the people that are always there for you are nothing because work was pulled into the conversation."

amelia just sat there, pissed and dejected at the same time, listening to freddy. what he was saying was true. it was the true-est thing she's ever heard in her entire life.

"i'm not gonna say anything, freddy," amelia said as she stood up, placing her phone inside her bag and placed some money on the table. "because i know you'll regret saying that. maybe you're drunk or maybe you're going through a hard time and you want to take it out on me. or maybe you're really just an asshole that's finally showing his true colors after months." amelia turned to ben, pointing at the money. "i'm gonna pack in my hotel, there's my share for the meal."

and amelia stormed out of the resturant.
