Did she just say I was partnered with that chic? Oh hell naw. There had to have been a mistake. For what was probably the first time since we've started high school, I spoke up.
"Mrs. Sasser who did you say I was partnered with again?"
If possible everyone's eyes grew wider at hearing me talk. Please don't tell me I squeaked. God I hate talking in front of people.
" You're with Mrs. Hamilton dear. Go ahead. Choose where you want to sit."
I looked over at her and nodded my head towards the desks. She walked to the back of the class and sat her stuff down, everyone watching her intently. I walked back there with her and sat at the desk in front of her.
Grabbing a book from my backpack that was supposed to be read over the summer and started reading what was left.
Everyone else was assigned their partners and sat down still in shock of me and the prep being partners.
The teacher handed us some worksheets and sent us to work right away. I grabbed the sheet and gazed over it. It was some review from last year. I looked at the first question and answered it immediately. Down the paper I went for a good ten or fifteen minutes before I sat the pencil down and picked the book back up.
I felt a pair of eyes boring a hole into the top of my head. No doubt it was the preppy girl sitting in front of me.
I looked up and met her gaze. She looked at me bewildered.
"How did you do that so fast?" She said voice barely above a whisper.
"Dunno." I shrugged.
I looked at her a bit longer. She was a beautiful girl. Light chocolate brown hair, caramel eyes and plump pink lips. She had it all. She was close to being every guys perfect girl.
Was she mine? In a dream yes. In reality I probably scare her half to death.
All of this because I got in one little fight in 8th grade.
