Hernando. | Bruno Madrigal x Reader

Chapter 2

It was the next day and Y/N woke up, still sleepy. The man pop up again in their mind and they just don't wanna deal with it right now. Its too early. They did their routine and stuff and went to the Casita. The doors opened itself and Pepa saw Y/N. "Y/N!" Pepa exclaimed and ran down to them. "Did you have a good sleep last night?" Pepa ask carefully, seeing Y/N still yawning.

"Yeah... sort of, not sure." Y/N answered and Pepa sigh. "Well, that's alright. For now, you could rest in my room if you want." Pepa said. "I still have some stuff to do so I'll be right back!" Pepa quickly added and left in a hurry. Without a second thought, Y/N went into Pepa's room which is filled with clouds.

This isn't new to Y/N, they've been here several times when they were a kid. Even though Pepa's powers wasn't really the best, her room is indeed the most comfy out of all the madrigals. Clouds everywhere and their soft too. There sat a bed at the corner and Y/N went there to sit down. Y/N is still sleepy so they closed their eyes for a while and open it again.

They still couldn't stop thinking about what they saw last night. Was it all a dream? Probably not. It felt too real. Y/N kinda wants to tell Abuela about how much rats there is in the walls but decide against it. Not sure why but Y/N felt like its for the best? Even Y/N wasn't sure about it. Not long after, Pepa came back and sat beside Y/N.

"Is something troubling you?" Pepa asked nicely and Y/N shook their head. "Are you sure? I assume you couldn't sleep well last night since you look so sleepy." Pepa pointed out and Y/N shook their head again. "No.. its fine. Im good." Y/N said. "Oh alright. Aside from that, are you gonna join us for dinner tonight?" Pepa asked, looking directly at Y/N's eyes.

"Of course I will. I did promise you didn't I?" Y/N said and nudge Pepa's arm playfully. Pepa rolled her eyes. "That's good to hear." Pepa said.

Time passed to the dinner.

Everyone gathered around the table and ate their food. Y/N sat in between Pepa and Julieta. Y/N devoured the food that Julieta made as it was very delicious. After the dinner, Y/N gets to hang around in the Casita for a while. Y/N's mind flashes back to the hide out that they found out last night.

Y/N thought that maybe they should go there again. Y/N quickly goes upstairs and went to the painting, they look around to make sure nobody is watching and enter the hole. They walk behind the walls until they reach a door. They peek through the cracks of the door to see if the man was there but he wasn't. They thought maybe its safe to go in there.

They slowly open the door and inside was full of rats. There's a couch in front of a table, and on top of the table have a puppet theatre some sort of thing. Y/N walk around and examine everything in here. It kinda looks cozy but it must be boring. Y/N look through the cracks of the wall and there they saw the family dinner table.

"What..." Y/N whispered. Then Y/N heard footsteps and quickly turn around to see the man they saw again. They both stop in their tracks and looked at each other, daring each other to move an inch. The man quickly grabs the nearest thing near him and it was a broomstick. Y/N also quickly grab the nearest thing near them and it was a pan.

They both used the items as a thing to defend themself. "Who and how did you get in here?" The man trembled. Y/N took a step back as the man gets closer. "Rats" Y/N responded and left the man with confusion. "Rats?" He repeated and then realization hits him. He sigh and look at the rats that's gathered behind him and they squeaked.

The man did a face palm and put the broom back to its place. "You must've saw my rats huh..?" The man said and Y/N just nodded slowly, still holding the pan in their hands. "You can put the pan down." He said. Y/N doesn't know if this man is gonna be a big threat to the Madrigal but they put the pan down. Silence took over and they just stared at each other in awkwardness.

"Bye." The man said and began to leave the room. "Wait what- hold on." Y/N quickly grab the man's hand to stop him from going any further. "Isn't this your hide out? Why are you leaving?" Y/N questioned the man. Y/N didn't notice this before but since they got a closer look at the man, they notice that he was shorter than them. Now that's something.

"Well uh.. Its not safe here anymore now that you know this place." The man replied and looked down. "Oh come on. Its not like I'm gonna tell anyone." Y/N told him. "You will probably tell them soon." The man shook Y/N's hand off of him and walk towards his small couch and sat on it. "Who's them?" Y/N interrogate. "The madrigals..." The man whispered but it was enough for Y/N to hear him.

"The madrigals?" Y/N asked him. "Do you like have a beef with the madrigals or something?" Y/N joke around. The man didn't answer and look down some more. Y/N sigh. "Alrighty then." Y/N sat on the floor beside the couch where the man sat on and look into space. "So what's your name?" Y/N ask. They wanted to know the man more and what's his story.

The man tensed up when he heard Y/N wanted to know his name. They can't know his name. He started to sweat a little and quickly answer with, "Its Hernando." Y/N looked at him and he looked away. "Y/N is my name." Y/N answered back and Hernando took noted. They sat in silence for the second time again. Y/N hadn't thought about this before but Hernando looks sort of familiar.

Its like Hernando looks like someone they met when they were a kid. Y/N was about to ask Hernando more questions but they heard someone calling out for Y/N. Y/N stood up and looked at Hernando for the last time. "Goodbye." They said and quickly leave. "Bye." Hernando whispered and Y/N already left. Y/N check if the coast is clear before leaving the place.

Y/N went downstairs and saw Pepa running off to them. "Y/N! Where were you?!" Pepa said and slap Y/N's shoulder. "Ow, I was somewhere." Y/N responded. Pepa wasn't satisfied with the answer and a cloud started to appear above her head. Felix came in quickly and shoo-ed the cloud away. "Pepa, your gonna get wet!" Felix warned. Pepa took a deep breath and exhaled.

"I was worried Y/N. You just disappeared like that." Pepa said and hold Felix's hands for comfort. "Oh.. I'm so sorry about that. Maybe next time, I should've told you where I have to go?" Y/N replied and Pepa nodded. "Are you gonna go back home later?" Pepa questioned and Y/N nodded. "Yeah well... Its getting late." Y/N answer back and Pepa agreed. Pepa let Y/N leave for the night and Y/N still can't stop thinking about Hernando.

Why does he look a bit familiar and why is he hiding from the Madrigal and live INSIDE the walls with rats? Its very weird, honestly. Y/N wanted to talk to him more but sneaking into the Madrigal's home each night is a bit too much. Soon after, the madrigals will find Y/N suspicious and possibly won't even let Pepa talk to them anymore. Maybe... just maybe... maybe Y/N could let the man get out of his hide out and to outside?

He could visit Y/N's home and maybe talk to Y/N there without anyone noticing. That could work. Y/N smiled to themself and walk straight to home to have a good night rest.
