James and Teresa walked around the back of the castle, and were greeted by Peter and Alexie.
"Nice to see you semi managed to get your malethien on." Laughed Alexie.
Teresa; who was tried and had way too much information still swirling around in her brain, snapped back at Alexie, saying, "actually, think I did a good job, for my first time, thank you very much."
James grinned and exchanged a glance with Peter. Alexie stuttered. "W-Well I-I was sayin-"
"I'm kidding." Teresa raised her hand, "I don't care how bad it looks as long as the thing is on me. It's not like I'll get into trouble."
Other kids were coming around the building and sitting with their sector along a white wooden fence. Alexie and James went to their groups, while Peter and Teresa found an empty spot along the fence.
"Why are you with me?" asked Teresa, "shouldn't you be with your people?"
"I'm standing with you because if I don't, you would be a very easy target for Mary," Peter said, leaning closer to her.
"Who?" asked Teresa looking around.
"Mary," said Peter, "Mary is in the Ice sector." Peter pointed to a group of kids farther down the fence. They were a group of girls, all giggling and looking at boys. "She's the one with the brown curly hair."
Teresa spotted her easily, she was in the middle of the giggling girls, but she was not laughing with them, she was looking in this direction, with a cold expiration. Teresa stiffened when she realized that Mary was staring at her. She turned to Peter. "I don't think Mary likes me that much," she said feeling, Mary's gaze pierce into her. Teresa shuttered.
"Ok!" Yelled a man in an all gray malethien, "We have a new student here today!" He turned and faced Teresa. "Would you like to step up and introduce yourself?"
Teresa's heart started to race. "Um... Sure." She took two wide stride steps from the fence, and turned, so everyone could see her. "I'm Teresa Michelson," she said.
"Welcome Ms. Michelson!" said the man, "I am Teobald Osment, your combat and duel teacher," he said.
Teresa nodded and stepped back to the fence, her gaze turning to Mary. Her eyes were still glaring into Teresa.
"Alright," Teobald said, "Choose your weapon." And with a flick of his wrist, four racks of weapons appeared in front of them. The kids moved toward it, fighting over to best swords and spears. Peter and Teresa walked up to one of the racks, she watched as Peter picked up a sword. "I like the simple choices," he said with a shrug and a smirk, "I'll be with my sector." Then he turned on his heel.
You can also make the hilt into whatever you want when you're fighting. Teresa thought. It's normal metal, right? Or is it fancy and magical so that type of things can't happen.
Teresa turned back to the rack. "Don't know what to choose." Her hand flicked through the weapons, until her hand stopped on a trident. She shrugged. "I guess I'll go with this... It's interesting."
As Teresa started to walk back to the fence, Mary stepped from the rack and blocked her way. "Well," she said looking Teresa up and down, "you'll be easy.' she said smirking, "I am one of the best here." She flipped her hair.
Teresa glared at her. "For now," she retorted. Teresa took pleasure in Mary's shocked expiration. She bumped past Mary, and moved to her spot on the fence. Her heart was beating a mile a minute. Teresa wasn't usually rude, but she could be when she wanted to.
