Soon the blackness cleared and before Teresa could say anything Peter stepped from the smoke and turned on James. "What is going on!?" he yelled at James. Teresa could tell he was trying to stay calm, but was failing miserably. After all, that was Alexie's job, staying calm for Peter.
Alexie unraveled his arms from Teresa and stepped in front of Peter. He placed a gentle hand on his chest, and turned his head to look at James. He smiled. "James... Why are you on fire?" He was choking back a laugh.
James looked down. "Oh blimey." He started batting at his uniform wildly. Clearly fire still affect an Inferno a little. "They're coming," he said, looking worriedly at Peter. "The Protectors! They're coming for her." He looked back down to his uniform.
They all turned on Teresa, who was still one step behind looking at James in utter confusion, and wondering how on earth James was on fire. They all seemed to realize that Teresa wasn't paying attention to anything they were saying.
"We need to leave," Peter said, looking at Teresa. "We need to get off their radar," he said, in a more assertive tone.
Teresa snapped back to the present. "Right," she said, looking away from James. "Um, I just have a few questions," she said looking around the room they appeared. "Where are we? And like Alexie asked, why is James on fire? And where is "off the radar"?"
Peter looked around Alexie to James and glanced him up and down. "Why are you on fire?"
James looked up from patting his uniform. "Oh," he said, "I was just running for my life from Allister Begolen, who "accidentally" lite me on fire." He gave his shoulder one last pat and snorted, "then I heard Goldenwien Sieren telling some Rangers to go the Second Level to get you guys."
Teresa stepped forward. "Who's Goldenwien Ser- Ser, Ser whatever you said," she asked James. Trying to keep up with the information.
Peter put out his hand to stop James from answering. "No time to explain," he said. "To answer your third question, we are going to go to a friend's house in London." He looked to Alexie.
Alexie nodded. "Right then. When do we leave?"
Peter turned to James and Teresa. "Right now. We don't want to hang around here for too long, someone will find us."
Teresa leaned over to James. "Ok," she whispered into his ear, "but where are we?"
James leaned back into her. "We're in the boy's half of the Inferno sector," he whispered.
Teresa closed her eyes tight. "Ugh," was all she said.
Just then, before anyone could say or do anything, there was a slamming sound from downstairs, followed by the sound of voices.
"Ok," said Alexie to James, "right now would be a good time to use your enulum."
The voices were getting closer and there were sounds of feet on steps.
James jogged to the door of the dorm room and poked his head out. "They're coming in hot," he said over his shoulder.
"James get back here!" yelled Peter, "we need your enulum.'
James jogged back to them and shoved his hand down his pocket. His face paled. He started patting his uniform frantically. "Umm," he looked at Peter, "where's yours?"
Peter turned to face him. "Where's mine? Where's yours!?"
James waved his hands around. "I don't know!" he exclaimed, "It usually pops back up in my hand like normal! Goldenwien must have cut off enulum magic!'
