At my studio, we literally have dance as our religion. We have a "dance bible".
Well, now we refer to it as "the book". Say that in a deep voice. Sounds pretty scary.
Don't worry. Our dance bible is not sacrilegious. Promise. Let me explain.
If you're a true dancer, you'll know that some pretty weird stuff is said inside and outside of class. We, as dancers at my studio, seem to have a plethora of awkwardly funny things to say.
One recurring one is about taking our clothes off.
A little awkward out of context, right?
Well, when we have ballet class, we can start in our extras. Like, for plies and tondues. Then, we have to strip down to our black leotards and pink tights.
Many jokes have come if this.
An anonymous source said: "I got hot at the barre so I took off all my clothes."
Awesome, right? We have some good laughs.
Sadly, the guy who started this tradition was a senior this year, so he's gone now. :(:(:(:(
But, it will carry on into the next generation, as he handed it down to Jaimeeson, our faithful friend forever.
And that's one example of cold, hard dance religion.
