Pain.
An emotion that has been present all my life. Something I'm used to a lot. But right now, I'm feeling both physical and emotional pain together. Seeing that one person has made me emotionally unstable. I was...

"Rian. Baby get up. Please."

I heard mom's voice through the darkness that was around me. I was trying to reach out to the voice but somehow I was unable to do it at the moment.

I heard mom's sobbing, which was a rare cause and that forced me to try again. When I opened my eyes, I felt blurriness in front of my eyes which was getting clearer and clearer. I saw mom sobbing in dad's arms and that was a sight, I never wanted to witness ever again in my life.

"M-mom..."

"RIAN. Oh my god son. Are you ok?."

"G-good. I'm good. What happened mom? Why are you crying?"

"You fainted dear. We were so worried. What do you remember last?"

My parents were looking at me with worry in there eyes. I tried remembering the cause and after a second I remember the exact reason of everything happening. My eyes started tearing and that's when I heard loud voice coming from behind the closed door.

Lisa's shouting and Andy's angry voice was so clear. They were arguing with someone else and hurried footsteps were approaching towards my room. The door open with a loud bang and their stood the reason of my sufferings.

"R-Rian. I..."

"Leave Mr. Michael Anderson."

"Listen Rian. Please l..."

"I SAID LEAVE RIGHT NOW. NEVER SHOW ME YOUR FACE AGAIN. EVER."

Michael was stunned at my words. He backed away from the door with tears flowing from his eyes. He stepped back, turned around and left.

I turned my cold gaze towards the other person who witnessed the full scene.

"I guess that's your husband, if  going by your surname."

He gave a slight nod in response to my question. I frowned at his calmness. It's as if he knew everything well, in advance.

"Do you have anything to say? If not, please leave."

He opened his mouth and the words coming from them confused me a lot.

"We need to talk Rian Jennings. Oh sorry. Rian Anderson. We'll meet soon."

After saying this, he walked away, maybe to follow his dear husband.

"Rian. You are not working on this project anymore. You are never going to come in contact with them. I'll see to it."

"Thanks Andy."

"Anything for you brother."

We looked at our dad, who was so lost in thoughts. He then saw us with a frown on his face.

"You won't be able to do that Andrew because I know Damon. He is dangerous and if he said something, he is definitely going to do it. You or I can never be a hindrance, he can't take care of easily. He is powerful and influential. He runs this country boys. Just be careful with him."

Dad's statement sent a chill throughout my body. Just how dangerous can he be? And how the hell did Michael get in touch with such a person.

Mom broke the silence and pushed everyone outside the room, giving me some privacy.

Last one to leave was Lisa who followed mom outside, but not before giving me a tight hug.

"We are here for you Ri. Always. Just remember that. I'm here for you. Whenever you need me, need us. Let's face it altogether. Ok."

I nodded in response with a smile on my face to assure her.

The moment, the door slammed shut, I broke down into tears. I was shattering again. The pieces that I tried to assemble, were again shattered by the same person. I remembered how I wasn't enough. And with the same thought again and again, I fell asleep.
