DINNER

The moment we set our foot on front porch, we heard all the hustle-bustle going inside the house. Whereas, mom was busy throwing directions to the cooks, dad was following behind mom to calm her down.

Mom was just a kid at times, I swear. And dad was her guardian, always making sure that her excitement doesn't excite her health. They were a lovely pair. So adorable to look at and so fierce, in respect of her children. I was blessed to have them as a family or rather, their consideration of me as there family.

"Mom, dad. We are back."

Dad turned with a smile at my voice and so did mom.

"Mum. It's just guests. Stop overreacting."

"Shut up Lisa. I know it's only guests but maybe they are young. I hope someone take interest in you girl. And you too, Rian."

I just shake my head in response and step towards my dad to greet him.

"Hey Rian. How was your day?"

"It was good, dad. Had ups and downs, but anyhow it passed away."

Dad raised his eyebrows in question and that was my cue to give the detailed version of the incident. It was always soothing for me to bare my heart out to him and he was ever ready to listen anything and everything from me, from us. Unknowingly, he became my support system, my oxygen to spend my life in peace.

After the conversation came to an end, he pulled me into his fatherly hug and by doing just that, my anxiety went away.

"Why so much hustle dad? It's just another client."

"Rian. Do you know with whom we had our dear today?"

"I guess. Actually I'm sorry. I think I was out of the meeting room after the midway. So no. Don't have much idea."

"Ok. That's fine. Actually, he is a very strict businessman. Still young but very dynamic. He has achieved a lot at a very young age. Smart and genius but very stoic. It's a miracle that you all were able to crack a deal with them on the very first day of your appointment."

"Oh !! How old is he?"

"Hmm. I think 29 or 30. I'm not sure."

"That's really impressive dad. Now I regret, not meeting him in person. But no worries. I'll get to meet him now, at dinner."

"Yes. Now go away. Freshen up and come down for dinner."

"Ok dad."

I rushed back to my room for a shower. I don't want to miss meeting this person again. Mr... Oh no. I forgot to ask his name now. He seems really impressive to me.

Hopefully, the dinner is good. I don't want to mess up like before. Hopefully.
