You enter your apartment in a huff. Annoyed by the day you have just had. You are welcomed by the warm embrace of your apartment. It's your own little sanctuary that you spent so much love and effort on ... deciding every little detail.

You look to the skyline of the city that surrounds you. You take in the illuminating lights that make the dusk sky look as though it's burning quietly. You take a deep breath, trying to relax after driving arrogant people around all day.

Of course, that's not the job you ever imagined yourself doing. It is probably why you hate it so much, but it pays the ever-growing bills.

You went to Drama School and a Theater college when you were younger, aspiring to be an actress. Which admittedly feels so far away right now. You had previously completed a couple of roles and parts in small scale movies and TV shows - nothing really noticeable though. You've also been an extra, more times that you can count. Which doesn't get you a good wage.

Countless times you have thought about moving to London, to get more opportunities and experience under you're belt. Your Dad always says that you will find your big break down there, the thought of his voice ringing in your ears. The reality is, how were you meant to afford a place down south, when you can barely survive in a cheap northern city.

You had also pretty much lived in Newcastle your whole life. You grew familiar of the city and not to mention, you fell in love with it. You loved the people, the smells, the night life... and not to mention all your family was there. In your head it didn't make sense to move away. Even though if you wanted to succeed in your career, you knew eventually you would have to... because let's face it, you can't be an Uber driver for the rest of your life.
Your phone buzzed which snapped you out of your daze over the skyline and you headed to the small kitchen counter where you had left your phone when you come in.

Text message - Katie: Hey Y/N, it's been a long time no see. I have a day off tomorrow... do you want to meet up for Lunch? x

You smiled at the text. Katie had been your best friend since you were 6 years old. Fond memories ran through your head as you remember playing dress up with her. She went through school with you too. Remaining your best friend, the whole time. She however already got her big break. She was an established playwright down south. Her talent for writing got picked up in Drama school when we had to write scenes for assignments. You think about the reply. Knowing your current schedule was flexible.

Y/N: Hey Girl, I'd love to meet up, and I can give myself the day off tomorrow too... but I don't think I can drive all the way down to London and back in one day. So, it might be a bit of a push. xx
You sent the text. You got slightly nervous after you pressed send. Fearing, that Katie might think you are bailing out or not showing up for your best friend... almost instantly your phone buzzes again.

Katie: I knew you would say something like that. So, what if we meet in Leeds? It's an hour and a half away from you and I can get a flight into Leeds Airport? I'd just love to spend some time with my bestie. You know how rare my days off are these days? x

You smiled to your phone. You smiled at the fact she knew you so well, and that she was willing to FLY somewhere close to you.

Y/N: OMG!! Yes, I would love to. You are a star. xx

Katie: No problem! I've made a reservation for The Botanist at 1pm in the afternoon. Also, you can totally say no to this next part... but is it okay... if Ella and Sophia come too? I just want to try see all my friends on my day off and they are in Leeds this week too? x

You sigh.

Ella and Sophia were katies good friends she met while being in London They are very successful and very snobby but no one else seems to see that. You could barely call them friends after only meeting them a handful of times. You can't exactly say no when Katie is going to fly to see us and her friends are in the same area. Right?

Y/N: Sure I was excited to have some one-on-one time with you, but I guess you will just have to be shared for the day LOL.

Katie: OHH fantastic! I'm sure we will all have an amazing time. Can't wait to see you tomorrow! x

And with that last text your arm went limp with the phone in your hand. You headed through the confined but homely living room and into your bedroom, plopped your phone down putting it on charge. Ready for the next day.
